With the announcement today that Transformers 2019 will be getting a spinoff series called Transformers: Galaxies in September, with each issue acting like the "Spotlights" of the 2005 continuity, what characters or factions are you hoping will get stories in Galaxies?

I personally hope that after #1 covers the Constructicons, we'll get an issue diving into the history of Starscream, Skywarp and Thundercracker. Starscream won't show up in the main comic until around #9 or 10 of the main series it seems, so this could easily explain what he's been up to alongside Sentinel Prime and Nautica.

While we're at it, I'd love to see different takes on stars of previous spotlights like Shockwave, Ramjet, Cliffjumper, and of course Blurr.

 

Cover each of the subgroups I’d be happy.  

 

Sounds cool, but you'll know the usual suspects will still complain about it not being like IDW1.

 

I'd like to see more of a focus on characters who didn't get their own Spotlight stories in the previous continuity. Wouldn't mind a few new takes on old favorites sprinkled in there either.

 

I'd be down for that too. Would love to see an issue dedicated to Wheeljack.

 

Perfect comic idea: A newly forged, adorable bot sees Cybertron for the first time and he’s so excited and full of hope. We see his mentor take him around and stuff, but they can’t decide on a name yet. He still doesn’t know what he wants as an alt mode or job yet, but he discovers that he really likes thrill-seeking and doing dangerous things. One day, while he’s climbing in the Maganese Mountains to get a good view, he notices a mine. He goes to check it out, falls in love with it, and tells his mentor that he wants to be a miner. His mentor is happy for him.
And so, he’s reformatted into a mining build. His mentor says that he’s going to go far in life and contribute so much to Cybertron now and in the future.

The last panel is his first day on the job. Someone asks what his name is and he thinks about it, then he’s like “I think I got something”

these could be pretty decent. i will keep my eye out for this one.

I just want a well written story with good art.
Is that too much to ask? Idw seems to think so.

 

You know what?

We need a story we can all relate to. Everyone has known that guy who has a name that just doesn't always translate or parse well:


How about a story where some poor sod can't get anyone to take them seriously because outside of Cybertron, their names translate to something truly ridiculous, and double points if the Transformer just doesn't get it at all because he or she isn't organic. "Discharge", "Landfill", "Drill Nuts", or a poor team like "Breast Force", serious folks that just want to get stuff done just walk around with everyone laughing at them and they don't know why.

And then all shit goes to hell when people are too busy laughing at them and making fun of them to take care of the problem.

So yeah. I want a canon version of the "Fumbles" Robot Chicken sketch.

 

I think the series should be focused on the Constructicons to show they are all fleshed out with their own motivations and aren't defined by their ability to transform into Devastator.
If I could see a series about any group, it would be the Aerialbots. If I could tell the story it would be about how Alpha Bravo joined the team, and Slingshot making the ultimate sacrifice with Alpha Bravo continuing his legacy.
The Predacons and the Combaticons should get one too.

I really want to see the Predators from G1 return.

 

Spotlights on the following: Warpath, Power glide, Beachcomber, Broadside, Snarl, Blackout, Ransack & Crumplezone, Strongarm, Saberhorn, Thunderhoof, Springload. I don't know much about the Seacons and Trainbots but I'd like to see them show up in the comics.

Okay, so looks like based on September solicits, Galaxies will me multi-issue stories. So this story of the Constructicons will not end with issue 1. My guess is that arcs will last around 3-4 issues, similarly to Sonic Universe. Sonic Universe was essentially Transformers Galaxies to the Archie Sonic comics. Each arc lasted 4 issues and told a story outside of the main comics.

 

Dinobots, Rosanna or Flipsides.

 

Said it before and I'll say it again. Neo-G1 Euro exclusives. It could be Clench leaves Cybertron during the period of peace with the Predators, his special ops team led by second in command Skyquake, Trakkons, his weapons specialists, Skyscorchers, communications and radar, and finally Stormtroopers, chemical warfare. They go around marauding planets for a while but then Pyro and his men catch up, the Turbomasters, they use high powered wind cannons led by his second in command Thunderclash, Axelerators, his reconnaissance and scouts, they use electric suppression weaponry, Lightformers, they have upgraded light platforms that fire beams that blind and if concentrated can burn metal, and the Aquaspeeders, they use riot suppression guns that fire extremely high pressure water or liquid nitrogen. Clench's group of cons, Obliterators, are veterans of the war against the Threefold Spark. Pyro's group of bots, Rescue Force, are scientists and rescue workers who found a calling to face evil.

 

Slag. Not Slug. SLAG. You know, the term for melted metal that a flamethrowing robot triceratops can do.

IDW just has to face reality. Little kids aren't buying these comics. Its all teen and older (probably most are adults). Does the UK even get these comics? Readers will know what the name means.

 

I'd plump for stories about members of the special teams that have nothing to do with them being members of special teams.
