I've seen pictures of the clip on torsos but never seen them for sale.

I honestly have no idea where to source them. It’s been years since I’ve seen one and nobody seems to use them!

It's one of those odd ball 3rd party items I'd really like to see reissued.

Here's some of my favourite ever molds just because I actually managed to take some photos today.

From the end of European G1 and then released almost straight after repackaged as G2 we have Trakkons Calcar and Fearswoop, with Lightformers Deftwing and Ironfist. Making up the back is Obliterator Clench (released in G2 as Colossus) and his Autobot counterpart Obliterator Pyro (released in G2 as Spark).

We also have the Botcon 2010 exclusives which curiously borrow from the G1 and G2 names as Clench and Spark respectively. I guess they went with the available trademarks.

Didn’t you just say the names Clench and Pyro were both G1, not G2?

Good spot, the Botcon names were Clench and Spark. Fixed my post.

There's not many G1 toys thay I consider outright crap, but Nightbeat and Siren are on the list. Sorry to anyone who feels I just trashed their childhood favourite. What's even more shocking is how good Hosehead is, so you can't just argue it was the times or the cost of materials or a simplified play pattern, you could still make decent toys if you put the effort in.

My Siren needs the seat and the weapons but is already a bit faded so I might just start over and go for a complete one in good condition.

And finally, here are some old familiar toys with even older familiar faces courtesy of Head Robots (I think). Pretty sure the rumour back in the day was they became Perfect Effect, wish their Scorponok had seen the light of day.

No childhood attachment, but my first experience of Siren and Nightbeat has been as an adult collector and late bloomer to the appreciation of 1988 figures, so they went straight into my heart...it helped that my examples were in superb condition. But I agree, Hosehead is TREMENDOUS.

Pardon me taking any excuse to share these pics again. I love these toys so much.

I totally agree that the better the condition the better these seem, but for me the 1984 / 85 range even in poor condition still feel like amazingly engineered toys, whereas these feel like amazing examples of an interesting period of TF gimmick experiment but hampered by Hasbro cost cutting which was evident enough to stop my parents buying me these toys around 1988.

To this day my Mum thinks G1 means the first few years which were amazing and everything else is crap. The fact she has an opinion at all is amazing so I'll never try to correct her.

Warts and all, hasn't stopped me buying them all as an adult though, and they're all part of the tapestry.

Such amazing displays in this thread!
I feel so behind being in my infant collecting stage, but I just had to add this scrappy little punk as an early acquisition. I know the Walmart cassettes are supposed to drop fairly soon, but my impatience got the better of me and I sprung for the Encore version. Really digging the tampographed details...so much so that his equivalent red counterpart is in the mail too!

A yellow pre-rub parade in gorgeous condition. Never thought I'd get them in such a good state with pristine stickers like this!

:lol  Of course, he then said he wants to try to make their feet come apart when he gets them...I pretended like that was a very nice idea instead of screaming in horror ;)
