Do these dudes have 5mm hands? Also, I take it we haven't seen anything of the G1 colors...? Interested in seeing if they're just the official colors or something more toon-accurate.
@SpectrumBelle Nope, the pegs/peg holes are upsized, to make things even more "funny", the tolerances are a bit random, for example some people reported that "Grimlock" can't hold his accessories (pegs are too thin or peg holes are too wide), but my can hold these quite well.
The only issue I had was the hips in combined mode. I opened them up and wrapped some electrical tape, just happened to be by my chair, around the gear. Stands pretty good now. The only other issue I have is with the design. The die cast in the legs of the arms makes them a little heavy.
They were shown off at a recent toy event, forget the name of it. Have not been seen anywhere else. Seem to have similar colors to the Hasbro release.
How does this make sense? Pink Slash is a KO of a G! styled PotP character created in the image of the G1 Dinobots.
I'm still trying to figure out why it doesn't make sense. I'll try drinking some paint thinner and giving it another go.
I pretty much gave up on these. I might just buy a Hasbro set off ebay & call it a day. They waited too long.
From what I understand these Factories pop out these side projects between other contracts - but yes it does make sense to do it soon enough that they don't have to much staff turn over on the previous one's release and so the factory staff require less training on a new item - which the longer they leave it the more that is a thing. But it may not be an issue if they have OK staff retention of the instruction for manufacture are easy enough. I don't mind a modest delay and to be fair kicking the can down the road is possible as maybe the interest window can be extended with things like over-scale seacons and that would push the theme well into 2020. Heck who know Hasbro might even reissue some of the older combiners in Takara style giftsets - they did do that with things in the past (not often but it did happen) so that might extend the interest a bit. I do agree they need to get these out the door as soon as possible though as they complement the POTP Predacons so well. Might as well take advantage of that.
He's a bit small for that though. He's not even really quite Voyager scale let alone being an MP. Though speaking of Swoop Fudging - what might work is swapping the wings over from the bigger toy to the smaller ones to make the wings more scale appropriate on the smaller one.
