Here's my 10 in no particular order:

UT Lockdown - The idea of movie bots getting accurate modes was largely pooh-poohed thanks to Bayformer design choices. Then Peru Kill showed up and let us all know that it's totally possible - you just have to turn the damn thing inside out. Peru Kill set a different standard for movie 3P MP choices by defying logic and expectations. While there are a few nitpicks with the figure (some minor QC/tabbing issues, the side mirrors having no place to go, somewhat limited articulation), the fact that someone was able to nail a movie bot so well made people rethink possibilities.

XTB Scourge - Once upon a time, XTB was maligned for producing panel-heavy, fiddly, nigh-crappy figures. XTB conjured up images of flimsy minibots. Then Andras came out. While not a perfect figure by any stretch, relying too much on soft plastics and "Transforgymnastics" in it's engineering, Andras showed that XTB was serious about offering great looking figures and have only gotten better from there. More importantly, Andras takes a solid S3/Headmaster Decepticon lineup go from popping to cracking.

FT Insecticons - Hard to talk about these guys outside of a group. These figures are a perfect blend of cartoon and toy, and manage to look menacing despite being much smaller than most MP figures. Although far less percussive on the shelf compared to the Dinobots, their use of matte black and chrome gives them an insidious feel as opposed to the screeching LOOK AT ME of the Iron Dibots. Problems include breakages with Kickback and the arguably unnecessary use of diecast, making them more of a drop hazard than they probably need to be.

Cloud 9 Shockwave - There are lots of comments about whatever happened to the Cloud 9 guys. Regardless of where they are or who they become, C9's Shockwave shoved FT's Shockwave in the mud, stole Takara Laserwave's lunch money, and took their place on my shelf. C9's Shockwave is and will remain a bruiser of a figure, finally giving representation to the non-pansy version that we all loved in the Marvel comics some toy time. The few criticisms include the fact that despite being a monster, he always looks SLIGHTLY like he doesn't belong. Like David S. Pumpkins, he's his own thing.

Fans Hobby Powermaster Prime/Ginrai - Fans Hobby burst out from nowhere, slammed it's hands down on the table, screamed MONSTERBOTS and then delivered some great product. While they might not be everyone's aesthetic, they're undoubtedly solid, fun figures. Then while we were all looking at those, FH screamed GINRAI and threw this beast in our face. And what a beast he is. While a lot of people consider him to be on the chunky side, FH's Ginrai/Powermaster Prime benefits from slick engineering, buttery ratchets, and awesome shelf presence. Minor tabbing issues affect this otherwise cherry figure.

OX Arcee/Stealth Arcee - We all wanted the best Arcee. When FT dropped Rogue, we thought she'd be the end-all... until we tried to transform her. Then came MMC's Azalea. She's just /fun/ to mess with. Great to pose, intuitive transformation, and just a joy to play with in general. Azalea ticks off all the boxes as a great toy, which therein lies the problem. For me, she's a great toy, but she's not any Arcee I know. Odd proportions from the abdomen down keep her from being my Arcee.

OX Mirage - This was OX's first solid submission for me, and what a fun figure that balanced everything I love about MP styled figures. Dead ringer altmode and robot mode with the capacity for expressive posing. This is what I hoped for with all of the OX line. I didn't get it, but for a second it looked like someone had finally nailed the MP-alike formula. If I had any criticisms of him at all, it would be the fact that of all the characters perfectly nailed, it was Mirage - a guy that did one thing one time and then nothing else.

MMC's IDW Overlord - When this thing rolled out, it looked like he stepped off the comics page. This thing captures the sheer brutality of the IDW character perfectly. The niggles about scaling and other slight inaccuracies really don't detract from just how much this guy commands attention - and I didn't even LIKE IDW Overlord. The black marks on this guy had to have been the cheesy cash grab on his optional G1 parts.

KFC Wreck-Gar - I always loved Wreck-Gar, and the concept of the Junkions as nigh-insane Mad Max bikers has always held some appeal to me. XTB really went the extra mile, not only giving us a fun figure, but also all of the swappable parts and staggering number accessories for him and his mold made. The issues with this guy (a somewhat janky transformation) does not substantially mar what is a really boss figure that captures the fun factor of a toy with the presence of a collectible.

TW Devastator - Big, bold, and bad, TW Devastator is what a lot of us were asking for when we wanted Constructicons as a kid. This monolith of a robot is beautifully engineered, and his components sacrifice nothing for the transformation to vehicle and robot. The only thing keeping him from being #1 is the fact that he was absolutely plagued by QC issues. Add tot he fact that you can't buy the individual bots anymore, and it's a recipe for heartbreak down the line.

Gabriel would definitely be in my top ten figures for sure if not for the qc issues. My copy in particular started seizing up after a few months, which I worked thru and kinda fixed. I also had some paint rub where I tried to clean up some bad spots in the finish. Sadly, I just decided to move it on as my ocd was getting the best of me.

Still my favorite MP OS looks wise.

I'd have to give Phoenix the edge over Grinder.

Honorable mention to the Zeta Superion.

I'd be hard pressed to decide between Inventa, Stray, Roadking, Saltus and Doragon for different reasons. They all represent different achievements of design in the realm of TF making to me. I guess stray is a mold that I find the easiest and most enjoyable to handle and pose and while having several versions of it as is I would gladly accept more so perhaps he wins by default.

But man Inventa and Roadking are just so... "for me" toy designs in so many respects. urghhh I hate these kinds of questions, they're so impossibly hard to answer given no toy is perfect in all respects and every time I think this is it this is the funnest best toy I've ever had, another comes along and is more fun haha.

    Omnigonix Spinout!!!!

And all sorts of XTB/KFC "old classics".

The amount of brain kung fu employed by the defenders provided many hours of merriment and entertainment.

Example: "other than it breaking, it's pretty awesome!!!"

While i'll definitely be getting TE-01 some time down the road my fav 3p OP now is MS-01X. He 's not G1 but IMO he definitely looks the part of the ultimate "generic" OP, like if you recall OP and how he looks in more recent comics, games and animations, thats the look you will see, and i don't mean it in a bad way. I only collect Op and Meg figures so that takes the cake for now.

Surprise no ones mentioned TFC Rolling Thunder as 10 out of 10 people on this board seem to regard it as one of the best toys released in 2018 and 2019.

Nice thread, I did something similar but more long form.

    Your Masterpiece Style Top Ten!

My current number 1 3P figure is MS-01 Light of Freedom. Bear in mind I haven't had many...yet.
