    Fantastic, Ambitron! I dunno, I think MP Hound's face sculpt is pretty damn great and evokes his character beautifully. I'm posting a few screenshots from the show because it's good for fans to keep in mind it was a hand drawn cartoon that, even among the Toei eps, was drawn by a myriad of artists with different styles and abilities. Hell, the heads/faces were a bit ill defined on the character models until late s1 or the beginning of s2 when dedicated head shot models were created. Averaging these screen caps out, MP Hound looks like G1 cartoon Hound to my eye.

    Ah thanks for these references...the tracing does indeed look pretty dead on to some of these shots. BACK TO 110% ON BOARD (up from only 100% yesterday ;)  )

    Yup, Hound definitely looks more than close enough to the toon for me. Better than Sunstreaker for sure!
    The thicker helmet is there to house the diving mask, and I'm absolutely fine with that. Also glad that his mask looks so blue-tinted in that last shot you posted.
    I think that they decided to use the same squinting eyes for the smiling face and angry face to make him look happier (but maybe in a teasing way? like how he looks when speaking with Ravage, showing him that Megatron hologram), and I think it works well.

    I've finished my first shot at digibashing MP-47+ toy deco -- alt mode is forthcoming and maybe another shot with the toy rifle. Sorry it's lower res than usual, for some reason all the Hound stock photos have been 1k x 1k while Prime and Bumblebee got at least double that.
