Basically "small" things you would change that don't ultimately change the story that much

Examples:

Blackout not dying in TF1 so there wouldn't be Grindor confusion and he would get a cooler death

Starscreams voice being that deep cool voice from TF1 UNTIL Optimus kicks his face in the forest, then he can spit and be all whiny

Also i'm not a Transformers story expert but inspired by the picture and idea from another thread of TF4 & 5 prime being Rodimus and 1,2 and 3 Optimus actually dying or captured would also be cool

and when i say smaller things, i mean that, not complete story rewrites that seem to capture some other threads

I actually agree, there was a few times where he could have died

 

Use Devastator's anatomy not just as a joke by Simmons, but have Devastator wield them as a powerful mace for some Autobot-wrecking action!

Show the Galvatron-Megatron transition in TLK.

 

That Soundwave would’ve kept his design from RoTF, that he would be at least as tall as Optimus or a little less and changed into a jet fighter or surveillance truck, that he would’ve kept his silent menace personality from RoTF, and that he would’ve put up a fight and survived even if he didn’t show up in the movies after DoTM.

But I’m glad he didn’t anyway. Soundwave needs a better design and needs to be in a solid movie where he can shine.

 

Giving Ratchet a larger role in AOE

 

For starters yes. Megatron killed Hound in TLK to me.

 

Keep Bumblebee the same Camaro from '07 instead of downgrading him into trashier "upgrade" variants each movie. My eyes burn a little whenever I see that abomination he devolved into by the fifth movie.

Also, keep him as the first generation Camaro throughout AoE so his ego grooming when he destroys Stinger at least makes sense because him updating into the latest custom Camaro and upgrading his body to match Stinger is basically him admitting his old form was inferior. Also the '67 Camaro was baller.

Keeping on the subject I guess, make him turn into Sam's "Bumblebee" Datsun from DOTM in the beginning of the fifth movie in his memory or whatever, then revert to Camaro to switch disguises after being seen or something.

 

Make Lockdown something like this instead of the Lamborghini.

Make the Wreckers a bit more like their comic counterparts (more diverse altmodes), and give them more action. It always bugged me how all they do is destroy one generic Decepticon...by ganging upon him. They should be far more capable and destructive. Honestly, I'd probably just cut them entirely and save them for a movie that can put more focus on them.

Give Shockwave a bit more to do, and some dialog. Put him on Cybertron, and make him part of Sentinel's plan to bring Cybertron to Earth. I'd actually make Sentinel and Shockwave one and the same (Shockwave in disguise), but that's probably more than a "small" change.

Bring Soundwave to Earth, and put him in the final battle of ROTF.

 

Make the bayverse less random.

 

Starting from an aesthetic standpoint:

• DOTM-AOE designs get more kibble. Serving a double purpose to:

1. Get better made toys unhindered by physically impossible CGI
2. Look more like Transformers and less like wannabe Evangelion

Because how does something as random as AOE Optimus turn into a truck?

• The Twins turn into less provocative designs similar to the Traxes of AOE.
• Megatron turns into a triple changer hybrid of his 07 and ROTF designs and stays that way.
• Starscream transforms into a smaller jet to allow a more standard looking robot mode.
• Wheeljack and Soundwave switch vehicles and colours: Soundwave as a sedan - perfectly normal disguise that still fulfils SLS-wave’s only redeeming point? Check. Has his G1 namesake’s iconic colours? Check. Adds colour to an otherwise dull army? Check.
• Optimus gets abs from the start.
• Ratchet never changes colours.
• All Arcees turn into variations of her 2007 concept art instead of hodgepodge scrap metal.
• Sideswipe turns into something street legal.
• Just for consistency’s sake *cough* SS Devy *cough* Rampage as both a standalone and component should turn YELLOW while Demolisher and Scavenger should both be red.

 

I would probably change all the designs to something in-between. Not as overly-stylized as the AOE designs, but also not as technically accurate as the first movie designs. They tried to make the first movie designs fit into their vehicles, but I feel like that caused some of them to end up looking a little lanky and awkward. I'd like an Optimus with the muscular, solid build of AOE Optimus, but with more real truck parts.

 

Remove the Order of Witwiccans.

 

Rename Onslaught Shrekage. He's a mean, green, cannon fodder machine, and his head is the size and shape of a giant onion.

 

I liked it better in G1 how they needed Teletran1 to scan alt modes. When they can scan their own and change instantly, like in the movies, it seems too easy to me.
Also, don't kill Jazz and no crude humor.

Pretty sure that was initially supposed to happen, but script rewrites during filming changed that.

 

Make the continuities less random.

 

Make Shockwave more badass in DOTM.

 

Not really a small change, right?
