Me to, I use to own every MFT/HS minibot in those pictures and I picked up one newage minibot and after that they all had to go.



So much happier now. I like most of the legend+ figures, but if you want to have any sense of scale you have to mix it up between all the legends figures. Minibots should you know be mini. We live in such a glorious time when it comes to these figures. The switch also gave me the justification to buy that iron factory warpath I have wanted desperately since I first saw it.

We desperately need updates for Ratchet and Ironhide at the legends+ size badly. I'd prefer if MFT did their own design, but I suspect we'll have to wait for them to oversize a Magic Square version.

You know, I hate to admit it since I pretty much built my entire collection around HS Ironhide, but I would replace them if that happened. And pretty much all of the Decepticons too, which sucks because it's like instead of my collection growing, it's stagnating because I would just be swaping out characters that I already own.

 

I liked the MFT Megatron so much when I got him. Now I really want an update. The seekers need it bad to. I am pretty much happy with all the rest of the deceptions. Would love a legends insecticons from MST or newage.

 

MFT/MBB might not do an Ironhide,Ratchet, Soundwave, Cliffjumper, or Hubcap for a while as they said as much about not doing Soundwave out of professional courtesy to the Hot Soldiers Brand that they supposedly have some connection or other too.

Amusingly to me the New Age Minibots somehow look more right with the Diaclone mech to me than the actual MFT stuff does. Papa toys might do a Ironhide or Ratchet eventually - (once they have someone to rip off from LOL)

 

Got my MFT Gears in, today. He's very vibrant, seems to be rather animation accurate in some aspects, but his proportions are off. For sure. It's...odd. He's charming, no doubt.

I'm not sure which weapon is his and which one goes to the mech suit. (It's a matter of importance because I'll be selling off the suit.) All in all, I'm pretty pleased with him and he fills the gaping hole that I had in my collection. That said, he's covered in excess flash and feels like he was slapped together and then throw into a box for shipping. Their Huffer and Pipes feel far more finished and polished.

 

HS Figures are looking increasingly subpar in comparison to newer figures. At some point not redoing them will be leaving money on the table. I don't know whats going on with HS/Irontrans?, but either they'll need to do an update or like you said Papatoys will do it. I think MFT would prefer to beat Papatoys. That being said have we heard anything from Papatoys since their Magnus?

 

Nope. They've gone silent since. I checked their Weibo out of that same curiosity last sunday.

I'm probably alone, but I'd have preferred Gears to have had his toy style head. Never liked his doofy cartoon head. Same with Brawn. I'm especially disappointed that the toy style head wasn't included since it's on the box art.

 

Both Pistols are for the robot figure, their handle pegs are a size unique to the fist holes of Rocke & Spiale, slightly larger than the roughly 4mm Diaclone-ish fist ports on Heikew/Engineer but still under 5mm, only the shoulder cannons go with the mech suit. The metallic painted more cuboid gun is the Rocke/Gears specific gun and the other unpainted gun is the alternate blaster designed for Spiale/Swerve, they've just given both figures both instead of omitting one from either set.

 

I like that you have the choice of giving them a Black gun or a silverish one - or what I do is give them the opposite weapon in vehicle mode.

ha...i knew it. hopefully it is the metallic set with yellow bits. i would double dip at that point.

 

now with this announcement, i don't know what I will do with my metallic coloured Dinobots. i just hope that they come with the same accessories as the metallic coloured ones, and the grey plastic / paint gets fixed. I think they look too dark.

 

If you want me to buy this set yet again MFT, it has to be G2 colors....

I'm going to triple dip with the DX9 box set coming soon because I think they scale better with Magic Square.....

If you want me to quadruple dip, G2 would be the way.....

 

Finally pulled the trigger on Heikew/Pipes. Now to wait weeks for him to arrive. Least I know what I'm getting thanks to Huffer/Engineer.

 

Anyone need the MFT Coneheads or Rainmakers/Welcoming Committee set?
