That's what I figured. I like Mixmaster's size, but wheel boi really should be larger. Even bigger wheels would help

 

I like the arguments over scale about this figure. Truth is if all of the vehicles were thy're true scale then the combined figure would be just as proportioned as Tyrion Lannister.

 

Pretty sure that's way closer to the Supreme sized Scavenger, in which case I'm interested.

Not what i was saying, but I do like the look of the black mamba one, and think that its such a small size change that there's no need for a straight KO, especially with the mods on it. That and if someone actually wants the normal one they would just go buy it right now, since its pretty cheap in most places which makes a straight ko pointless.

The more I look at both the design and the colour, the more I think the movie devie designers decided to do a HUGE middle finger to hastak toy designers.

Not just the parts are virtually impossible to have the alt or robot to combined mode, the colours are all messed up in proportion too. Total mass /might/ be equal but all the pieces are messed up.

I can imagine Demo's mess.. I mean, mass, from the wheels (which are tracks in alt mode. wtf?!) might have gone to the neck wheelies, the entire top of the torso is red (which almost no constituent bots have I just checked in the movie, sorry Demo's actually red... also rampage shouldn't even be part of devie since he's threatening sam in the same scene as devie combined) the mess on the head is WAY too big for Mixmaster to be anything but the shell (if you look at the combining sequence in the movie, it felt as if something blew mixmaster up from the inside... kinda a very disturbing imagery that I won't put below Bay....).

I really want this to scale with MPM (since I"m collecting SS one for SS Scale) so I'd be equally happy if they upscaled SS to MPM scale or have this actually scale well with MPM. Just be that huge....

(yes, i do have TR fort max, Combiner wars devie and maketoys scorponork...... no clue where I'd put this haaha)

 

Combined mode is only SS scale, unfortunately. He'll be about eye level with Black Mamba MPM04

 

If I remember the canon right, the Constructicons are a large interchangeable group with multiple copies of each other, so the Rampage that fights Bumblebee is different from the one that forms the leg. (Although in the film I think the leg-Rampage is yellow.) IIRC Demolisher is the wheelbot from the opening scene of ROTF, whereas Scavenger is the one that forms the torso and Overload (included in the on-screen film transformation) is mainly red too.

 

This is true. It also makes army building easy and canonical.

 

The Constructicons are pretty emblematic of how ROTF's production went - just lots of random robot designs made for very specific set pieces, then a script hastily pieced together using said set pieces. There are worse concept designs out there for these guys but I'm still baffled that Demolishor/Scavenger's design was given the go ahead. You can design weird alien robots without them becoming completely impractical and painful to look at. The only reason why a red Rampage exists is so that Bay wouldn't have two yellow robots fighting each other against a beige backdrop.

Of course the individual Constructicons were originally intended to be the ones which combined into Devastator, but with how much of a clusterfuck production was it got thrown out of the window. Devastator needed that big scene to justify his inclusion in the movie, yet those expensive and marketable individual Constructicon CGI models hadn't seen enough screentime, so...

Same! They are basically DE-Constructicons! What better design if your purpose is to destroy as much as you can.

I love how movie Devy is this hulking, hunched beast that moves and screeches like it's in pain.
