Check out some of these concepts from Beast Wars and other lines. Some very early development prototypes for the Beast Wars combiners. Originally there was only going to be two robots for Magnaboss and Tri-Predacus. Also, a look at plenty of other prototypes and exclusive related items. Some really cool stuff that was on display at RoboCon 2019!

So I think the most interesting things about the combiner concepts is that like some of them had the head of Beast Wars Dinobot lol

 

These type of early concepts are rarely seen. People seem to really like seeing them. Thanks to you and everyone that contributed to the display. Was a very cool showcase!

So. The one on the left with the Inferno head and Cheetor legs was a design concept they were playing around with. Instead of animal limbs and kibble hanging off of the body they would instead slide into the toy through varying channels. Further to that, they would have had a rubber/latex coating to cover any of the joints that bunched up at the tops of the shoulders you see there.
Which leads me to the one on the right.
Rubber/latex covered figures so there wouldn't have been any "robotic" looking stuff showing through in either mode. Whatever is on the inside of that thing however.... Is anyone's guess lol

 

Yeah that "Maximal-X" looking thing. Not a bad idea, but I hear latex/ rubber and I think of Monster Pretenders.

Right. And it was VERY brittle and crumbly when I was handling it lol
I was blown away seeing and holding some of these pieces. This is true, rare form pre production stuff.

My personal favorite from the display:
Jesse dubbed this "Bi-Predacus" and I want it so bad! LOL



Fun fact. The Snarl when I got it was broken. But I spent the night repairing it. Good as new. And shaky hands all throughout! Lol

Now... For the REAL pain. The TM2 Megatron...
It arrived in a few different pieces.
But after a few hours of TLC it was display-ready for the show! You can even see the "driver" in his chest.
I'm super happy I was able to restore it to its former glory!... For the royalty!!

I don't think they were ever intended to be released as such. Just more or less conceptualizing combiner in the Beast Wars line before they decided to make them teams of 3. In which we later see basic shapes of cicada, beetle, and crayfish & lion, eagle, and elephant beasts with robot modes respectively. "BiPredacus" merely paved the way
