Hi, BB'sG here need a little, okey a lot, of help ID-ing a video game I played at Walmart about 10 years ago. Back when Walmart had those 2 areas with video game controllers stuck on poles just under a screen where you could play new games. I've been trying to find the game off and on for a few years with no luck so far. Now that I've given a little bit of background... Here is what, little, I remember about the game. The character you are playing is a humanoid male, has a RED parrot on his shoulder (right I think), and has a pirate style sword. (You know the kind thats flat on top and curved on the bottom) That is all I remember about the character, other than I think he may have been fox like, not 100% on that one though. Fox like being fox ears and muzzle, but I don't think he had a tail... Okay, on to the environment, hopefully this will be more helpful than my vague description of the character... You are in a cove by the sea at night. The area of beach is shaped like a sideways U having the top to the left and the bottom to the right. The area is inclosed by steep stone cliffs, on the right the cliff comes out toward the ocean. The center of the U is split by a stone outcropping coming from the left, and getting shorter the further it comes. There are rocks around the walls that you can jump onto and off of (I know this because I LOVED to make the character jump on and off the rocks over and over.... And over... Yes I loved jumping, "oh yeah, I'm jumpin', jumpy jumpy jump!") You can go out into the water, though I do not believe you could swim. Back to U land, on the beach if you where to go around the, previously mentioned, little wall of rock in the center, there was a campfire there, and I believe you had to fight pirates..... I never did go over there, at the time I was young and didn't like action game combat, I usually freaked out and jumped around like crazy. Yeah jumping again. Okay I'm silly, and I don't remember a lot but I hope somebody knows what I'm talking about... If nobody does thats okay too. Thanks just the same. Have a blessed day! BB'sG
Ratchet and Clank - Quest for Booty? No parrot or sword, but it's a pirate themed platformer from from the late 00s with an animal-like player character.
I can almost picture it. I'm thinking it's a Wii game. Maybe a kiosk demo for that pirate game that was never released?
Zack & Wiki: Quest for Barbaros' Treasure Doesnt really match your description but its the only Wii game I can think of.

Um...... I have no idea what platform the game was... I know the grafics were rather nice, not pixel type stuff.... The gaming controller thingy looked a lot like this one (only it wasn't clip art. Haha.) it may have had one of those joy stick thingys instead of the + control thing..... BB'sG
Or Wii Classic Controller. If it's XBox, it might be Blinx 2; otherwise I have no idea what it could be on that console. I'm not a huge XBox connoisseur.
I'm going to take a stab and say this is Jak & Daxter you're talking about. I don't remember if a sword was one of his weapons, but Daxter could be the parrot you're thinking about. Jak also has elf ears which could be the fox ears you remember, and he doesn't have a tail.
