I feel like Mace surviving is far less ridiculous. Darth Maul was literally cut in half, which was a very explicit death. Mace technically never died. Him being thrown out the window is often taken as his death scene, but it's really not. He could have caught himself a few stories down, fallen onto a speeder, or simply survived the impact and broken some bones (depending on how tall that building was). Remember all the jumping from windows and speeders Obi-Wan and Anakin did in AOTC? Not to mention Luke survived a huge fall without a hand in ESB. In a world where a guy who got cut in half can come back to life, Mace's return is a no-brainer. Same getting Boba out of the Sarlaac. At last we saw them, both were still alive.

 

Except then arguably the most powerful Jedi of his day survived an attack by Palpatine and Vader but went on to accomplish absolutely nothing of significance. Nothing, no effect on the OT, no memory of his exploits post the attack. There is no reason to bring him back because even if they did he was able to do nothing between his “death” and ANH. It would only cheapen his character.

 

That's a good point, but I'd argue they could still do it well. He wouldn't have to have a huge impact on the galaxy. He could end up on an outer rim world, or in the underlevels of Coruscant. And he could still die well before ANH. Personally, I think the fact that he wouldn't have a big impact would give him a good arc. Mace always came across as lofty and somewhat full of himself. Sure he fought in some battles, but it was always the big epic ones (at least in the movies, I don't know what he did in the Clone Wars). But he mostly just sat in the council and followed rules. Seeing him function outside of that comfort zone would be neat.

And I'm not necessarily saying that they have to do a Mace Windu movie. I just think it would be more interesting than a lot of other characters. You can't do much with Han at this point. Even Vader is kind of played out. Darth Maul is almost the opposite, where he has too little character to really explore. Mace has star power, and enough personality that he could be deconstructed and developed in interesting ways. If they want to continue using known characters, I'd prefer somewhat underused characters to the usuals.

 

I think Mace should just get bitter and then Sam Jackson just goes FULL Sam Jackson with Mace. Pissed off swearing yelling Mace.

 

As if it would be that different from what Luke accomplished post-ANH  

EDIT: No, really. Either he spent his time doing nothing, like Luke did on Ach-To, or he tried to do stuff and it all fell apart, like what Luke was doing before Ach-To. It would be an interesting twist if the Knights of Ren turned out not to be Ben Solo's fellow trainees. What if Windu spent the OT thinking he was the last of the Jedi, and making a separate atttempt to train a new generation. What if his bitterness led to the corruption of the students, and those turned out to be the Knights of Ren?

 

New Head Canon: Mace traveled to a different galaxy and changed his name to Shaft.

 

Isn't Mace set to return in the fan made Vader sequel?

 

If mace windu returned in his own star wars story, I would have definitely like to see him fight Darth Vader.

 

And per usual, will blame Vader for everything that happened instead of taking responsibility by acknowledging how arrogant he was by not trusting Anakin in his entire life because the Jedi were never evil and Anakin was never the chosen one blah blah blah.

I just meant that story had already been written via the OT. I think that idea about Mace training the Knights of Ren is an interesting and surprising concept. But I just like Windu the way he is. He has a nice tragic arc. On watch his whole life for the return of the Sith and it happens right under his nose and he can’t stop it. Right about Anakin being a bag o’ shit the whole time and he can’t stop it. Mace really is the Jedi Order.

 

I agree, generally. I don't think he needs to reappear. I'm just saying that if he did, it would at least do no worse damage to him than the ST is doing to everyone else, be no more needless or absurd than what it's already doing, and that there are certainly ways to at least make it interesting and dramatic. The whole new trilogy thus far is an exercise in "things that didn't need to happen, but did anyway" and in showing how the previous characters have wasted their lives after their story was done. At this point, why the hell not?

Fuck it, let's bring back Boba Fett too. Badass bounty hunter. Escaped the Sarlacc. Spent the next 30 years hunting Mace Windu and acomplishing nothing. Let's make it happen.

But you're right. His story is done, and it would be better to leave it alone. Just like it would've been better to leave everyone else's story alone.

But is the Utapa 4 ep arc going to be included since they already had animation reels done for it too?
What season # is this "cwsaved" being given?
There were 6 seasons, then lost missions...is lost 7 or like 6.5?
Clone Wars Saved...is that 7 or 8?

Saw out online that 8 was already airing or was about to air...

I would but neither of us are changing our minds anytime soon, so why bother. I guess I would say the ST humanizes the characters and philosophies more and since Lucas opened that can of worms with the Prequels anyway I don’t see the harm.

 

Yes. I don't know when the fan film will make its release though.
