For what it's worth, they're worth the price as high end, 1:100 Gunpla scaled High Grades with great color separation AND an Action Base 5. The Laevatein was sort of the same way, $40 USD for a 1:60 scale model just slightly taller than a 1:144 Gunpla. Grendizer is the only one so far that has the most decals but for the areas they're used, it's easy to make up for them with paint. - Fixed a painting error on the Jagd (..um.. the part fell in my paint pan... and got coated in dark gray paint)... and now I'm filling in the color on the underside of the hip armor.
Got my HGCE Destiny last Friday and been admiring it since. First of all, the head sculpt and details are fantastic. Before the release, I thought the "blood tears" was painted because they looked so natural and parts fitted so well unlike the RG version. Turned out Bandai used some ingenious way to get the colour done.. The colour separation is excellent too. Look at those black vents on the shin. They are actually one connected piece with the gray part on the knee. This is another picture show how well designed this kit is. When bending forward, there is no gap. You also don't see those cheap and ugly PC joints exposed outside for the shoulder joints either. I wasn't crazy about this kit before. All the promo pics showed a really top heavy and short legged figure. The front skirt also felt too long. The top heavy impression is mostly caused by the massive wings. Seeing the figure in real life, I am quite happy with its proportions The leg could be bulkier or the arms could be thinner but it still looks great. Going to do some detailing and apply some stickers. All the pic shown so far are OOB without sticker or paint!
Not gonna lie, seeing that makes me regret the RG Destiny just a tiny bit, since really the only thing the RG has on the new Destiny is the superdetailing. Otherwise, the RG just feels too fragile and its inner frame really hasn't held up over time.
Started painting my "G3" Musha Gundam. Going to paint the edges of the ears the same iron colour as the pipes
Okay, so this is a weird question: you know that MS Cage Unicorn that came with the extra 1/100 figures? Anybody here have that, and would anybody be willing to sell me the little figures? I actually specifically need Mineva and Cardeas, but all four would be awesome.
Seeing as it's being sold as a standalone exclusive, You should be able to get one from any place selling Tokyo Front merchandise. OR... there's knock offs available on Ebay.
The figures, I'm not sure of. I just know the cage has been duplicated: BW MS Cage Base for Bandai 1/100 MG RE TV Gundam Unicorn Freedom grey 606479864435 | eBay
But... that's not what I was looking for. I just want the 1/100 figures. I don't need the cage or Unicorn.
Sorry, I'm trying to look at it some more, I've found the Tokyo Front version which does come with the figures, but I can't see the full runners of these clones to confirm it.
The Jagd Doga now has full hip armor. It has an interesting swiveling feature that allows them to the swing downward but they still sit flush against the front and back skirt plates. They also act as containers for the beam saber but you have to take the large cover pieces off to do it. it's literally like taking the lid off of a small box. I may as well just leave the saber out of there instead of putting it in a pull apart container. . Spent most of my time tonight setting the red inserts into the vernier nozzles and painting the undersides of the shoulder armor and skirt plates. I still need to finish the front cooling vent and attaching the rear skirts' ducting parts.. But for the last phase tonight I have the waist cables detailed and connected, and cemented in place. For a design that eventually builds into something so stout and stocky, feels very light. One more detail I should have mentioned is I painted the areas on the leg below the knee that are just a flat surface, but gently contours into the raised bulbous knee armor . It creates a subtle illusion of depth.
MG 1/100 Gundam F91 ver. 2.0 [Original Plan ver.] Release Date: July 20, 2019 Price: 4,860 Yen This kit will be sold as an exclusive kit at the Yoshiyuki Tomino world event at the Fukuoka City Art Museum that will be held from June 22 to September 1, 2019. https://www.gundamkitscollection.com/2019/06/mg-1100-gundam-f91-ver-20-original-plan.html
If it came in box art drawn by Kunio Okawara, then maybe it'd be worth the time but if I want a white F91, I've got a bottle of white primer and white acrylic.
I've seen all these. They're pretty good, and a bit frustrating when I see those ship models... why do all of them have to be so dang expensive?! Of note, I just dug a great big hole in my wallet to get the Gundam G-Frame Volume 6... and I made the overpriced mistake of choosing EMS shipping...
