Received mine today. This turned out even better than expected. Love how heavy and solid he is. Looking forward to more in this line. My pics don't compare to most on here, but I'll post one anyway.
Jeep Bee is my favorite out of all the Bayverse/Knight designs for him. Got tired of seeing him only as a sports/domestic car. Disguises mean they should change up vehicle modes not just car models.
Mine arrived from Anime Export today. I don't usually bother with non-transforming figures, but with the MP version being so off-model (as much as I liked the MPM) and how much I like the design, I couldn't resist this - and I'm glad I didn't, because he's such a quality piece. (Now I need to be brave and move those joints into some better poses. )
Waiting on a replacement left hood piece (ball peg snapped in transit, had been pushed up way past its tolerance limit - hopefully will be sorted) but man I love him.
That’s the exact piece that broke on mine. Took them over a month to send me a replacement piece. Must be something with the packaging.
As a rule I don't double dip but as soon as I got this figure in my hands I immediately ordered a second...
With anything fully painted and poseable, there sadly runs the risk of chipping. There are some spots on this figure like the upper thighs where it seems almost unavoidable when doing certain poses. These parts would be in constant motion in 'real life' so I've kinda approached the chips from that angle. I have little bits and bats on the arms and crotch but they don't distract from the overall look of the figure. Yet. On the feet, if we're posing on something rough, friction is gonna take it's toll. Learnt that the hard way before.
Ah, gotcha, I see now in one of the pics the extent of it. Yeah to that degree that's.. troubling. Damn, sorry man.
Yeah, I've had mine for just a couple of days and one of the upper thighs has quite a bit of rubbed off paint and for some reason the top of the crotch has a scrape as well. [SOAPBOX] When you have to have instructions about how to rotate and swing open the hips, I think you've done something wrong. There's also something about the feel of the plastic for his arm and leg kibble that bothers me, especially combined with the super tight joints where it's difficult to get a good grip to bend or rotate a joint. I don't think it's going to break, but it FEELS like it will. Reminds me of the feel of the plastic on Joy Toy Dark Source mechs. Compared to my Flame Toys Drift, you can tell the difference in quality. Is it worth the price diff? That's totally subjective. I don't feel ripped off at all with the price of the Flame Toys figs and may get Star Saber. I'm also extremely happy with my Bee purchase and still keeping my DLX Prime and Blitzwing orders. [/SOAPBOX]
I'm no expert but the problem could be that the dirt is simply a paint wash. The yellow is bare yellow plastic and the metal looking parts silver/grey paint. The figure is then given an all over wash to give it the dirty look. I believe unlike regular cured paint the wash could be worn off relatively easily. Maybe the wash wasn't cured like regular paint?
