All this Hans Zimmer talk, and no-one has mentioned his greatest success:

Driving with the top down is hands down the best piece from that movie. I believe that's the name of the mkII test flight with the theme.

Indeed it is! I wanted to seem like less of a nerd, but I realise that's probably redundant in a place like this. :D

I love Hans Zimmer. I had the pleasure of attending a keynote presentation of his at the VIEW conference in Turin last year for work. I don't say this lightly, because most 'inspirational' people do not really move me - they almost get famous for stating the obvious - but a lot of what Zimmer said in his unscripted address to the attendees was properly, deeply inspirational. And he was a hilarious guy with fantastic stories.

I love that he told the story of "Doris", a woman he imagined was in the crowd when he was playing old gentlemen's clubs and weird venues in the North of England in the 80s when he was in some electronic music band. He said Doris was a single mum, worked all week and going out to watch music was the one time in the week she had to herself, and it was their duty to entertain, and to this day he still imagines he's making music to entertain that fictional character he created.

    All the best
    Maz

    Nerd it up. Embrace it.

That's pretty cool. This thread proves yet again we can have a nice chat without people going over the top.

To be honest, I'm starting to think of getting one of those k0 Prime's to fill it out. It's going be the only cost effective way to get the bits, looking at ebay prices.

Joking, I haven’t seen it and said I wanted to, hence why I now have it. Be careful what you wish for Dads.

I must be one of very few people who enjoyed Beast Machines as a show (I've not seen that many Beast Wars episodes).

Also never come across any BM toys either. Are there any decent ones to pick up?

I’ve only ever owned vehicons, both Jetstorms, Tankor, Tank Drone, Obsidian, Strika, Megabolt Megatron (I know it’s RID but it it clearly supposed to be the floating head)

The vehicons were decent toys and quite fun.

Good question. I don't know yet. He has not responsed to my email so far (approx. 48 hours).

Cool! I enjoy the show as well. Very philosophical.

I too loved bm. Great show. For toys, i only have vehicons, but deluxe jetstorm, mega class tankor (the original toy, non show accurate) and the motorcycle drone I'd say are the highlights. Obsidian is pretty cool, and the original thrust is worth a pickup too.

For anyone wondering what Molotow gold pen looks like in situ, I ordered one from Amazon and used it to touch up my Hexa Gear Scarecrow yesterday. As I had hoped, it looks less ‘gold’ and more ‘brass’, which is perfect for detailing pistons and such.
