But just how big will he be? If he's scaling with Primal and Lio, who are big powerful leaders too, would he be the same size as them? That is to say, not overly big in the scheme of things.

His beast-mode will be just as panel-y as the original figure, but TT would find ways of getting them to fold in on themselves to minimise kibble in bot-mode.

 

My heart wants him to be BW Megatron sized but my mind knows that would be wayyy too huge. Maybe a compromise and stand around Dinobot’s height.

God I want an MP Big Convoy so much. And the requisite Universe Nemesis Prime redeco, who would finally be as huge and imposing as we all know he is.

 

Throw in an MP Ultra Mammoth for good measure

Star Saber was pretty accurate to the cartoon, I don't see a need for him to be redone. Reissued, maybe.

Hey, don't get me wrong. It's cool that Takara is doing figures that the third parties won't touch with a ten foot pole - more choice is a great thing! But... it's weird. It's like, I always thought Takara didn't really care about the third party companies, but when everyone is clamoring for Jazz and Galvatron and Dinobots and, heck, even V3s of the same old characters now, and we get this... well, it's like they REALLY don't care, I guess.

EDIT: I want to be clear that I'm not complaining - it's cool that fans of this guy are getting this. Just seems weird to me is all.

I'm keeping my Willis, will likely get the ToyHax set to get him looking more toy deco. I think Takara does a better job matching the animation color, and will have better articulation, but Willis does a better job at nailing the cartoon body proportions (also the toy had a stocky body too, so it works for me).

 

Yes. Needs a proper MP update. Power Baser is cool and all but its too far away from the original. MP GOD GINRAI 2020 announcement incoming?

And I didn't want to mention this, but the whole "placeholder" thing goes the other way, too. My MMC Ravage and FansToys Hot Rod have replaced the officials in my displays (though admittedly, I have not sold any of them, nor do I plan to).

 

I also have a soft spot for Hound, he was was one of the transformers I had as a kid. I'm doing something similar with my MP-18, and at the rate things are going, there is going to be a growing toy deco display going.

 

Agreed! I want a totally toon accurate, slavishly unoriginal design of Ginrai at MP scale as the jewel of my collection.
