you can blame takara for that one, they kind of screwed over hasbro and ignored them when producing the galaxy force cartoon. since then hasbro has led the media where as before if they worked on something together hasbro gave them guidelines and let them do their own thing.
The thing is, if Zone were to be continued/completed, it wouldn't be in anime form. It would be CGI animation. There no more Japanese studios that make anime like Zone.
I'm posting that its almost 30 years since Zone debuted. I do have to say the only "sign" of activity in Transformers is the Generations lines. Super Megatron and the Seacons to note. I mean they are "links to the past" No pun intended. I'm just not liking the "present" stuff with the exception of the upcoming Megazarak figure in War for Cybertron line. Lets see if Takara can make "Black Zarak" from it.
hardly anything exciting with Transformers at this time? Heck, that's not saying much about being a fan then... Sure, new figures are freaking great, but I enjoy every figure of my collection and very "excited" to have such a collection, heck, to even have any figure at all.. As a child, I could only dream of ever seeing or having such toys.. none existed at the time, or were extremely rare, as there was no internet to buy from/through, store only had the regular "popular" stuff. Many will never know the anticipation of the waiting for the new catalogues (Sears, The Bay, Consumer Distributing) to even get a glance of the new toys that were coming, every 6 months or such. And right now, after Siege, I welcome a financial break at this time (though the wave 1 of Earthrise did add much needed characters to my collection). Siege, following on the Combiners and Titans figures of characters that we hadn't seen in decades with such great design (even if the plastic sucked), this has been an amazing 4-some years. I've started with Siege to actually customize, fix and such, my figures and have enjoyed it tremendously, and just can't find the time to do as much as I want.. I can't even list the number of things that I still want to do or try... So, "hardly anything exciting" is absolutely the last thing that I'd consider about TFs at this time.
Let's see...a new Netflix show, three separate main lines, whatever random stuff Japan does like Super Megatron, the IDW comic, the weird crossover stuff like Ghostbusters, a billion vinyl toys and artistic stylized figures like Flame Toys, a card game... What the hell are you even talking about?
Feels like there’s a lack of creative spirit going on in the brand for sure. Since everything is so unified, it feels like all of the media products out there for the franchise are just one big thing. Or perhaps I’m just not engaged with it right now. Here’s to hoping we get something unique here soon.
Lack of movies,Games and content we really need. Ever since TLK ended its was basically a desert until Bumblebee.Instead of kidde shows we should get more movies and games. Continuation of WFC games,Devastation 2 and the TLK game.
I feel like most franchises nowadays are showing a tendency to dig into their nostalgic roots and form a more homegenous identity based on those roots. That's just the running trend nowadays, sadly. I think maybe the pendulum will swing back to the "wild and crazy innovation" side of things eventually, though
The very least that Takara can do is reboot some series. Like how Digimon Adventure is recently rebooted.
They did, they recently rebooted Diaclone, their original pre-Transformers line. There's a whole thread about it in the Toyark threads.
I just finished Beast Wars Neo. I still don't understand why when Hasbro had the HUB that they didn't bring it to their network and dub it. It really is a good series with some much needed variety.
Because it was a 20 year old toy commercial with no product on the shelves. There would be no financial incentive to dub it
You mean Takara is. And those toys cost considerably more than they should to cover the more limited release.
