Lucky for me, I had been out of Transformer collecting, for several years, but now that my son is old enough to appreciate transformers, I'm back in! So even though a lot of these characters had been done in recent years, it's like all new, again, for me, LOL!

Am I the only one feeling that the third party content of this thread has ramped up a bit in the last couple of months? Its naturalised in the Supa Clear and 'Cool Stuff threads, but I didn't expect it here. I don't doubt the intentions are innocent, I'm just noticing it more.

 

IMHO...3rd party stuff has reached saturation, is all...almost everyone has something now, and it just gets worked into most pics.

 

Got my Jetfire order in from @TFsExpress. Cannot wait. Will go some way to getting my mp47 discount as well    .

Ultra Magnus and co.:

 

Just realized that we will now have a full movie/season 3 cast in the same general style.

 

I know!   All I'm missing now is Springer. And i guess Blaster too if you count the 'expanded' movie cast (EG Perceptor, the Dinobots, and the other S1/2 characters who show up in S3)

 

What step am I missing when transforming Ultra Magnus into alt-mode? I can never get the red roof part that sits next to the back of the white cab to stay flush. It constantly pinches up and if there’s some tabbing going on, it doesn’t occur.

My finger is pointing at the exact section that doesn’t connect/tab between sections.

It frustrates me! Tips and pointers appreciated!

 

Did you tab the red section to his "spinal column"? It has to click to it, also be doubly-sure the white portion of the cab is pushed as far forward as it will go. The tabs on his arms should slide neatly into the slots just below them.

 

I know exactly what you are talking about and I don't think I've ever gotten those two sections to tab properly. It drives me nuts. I'll keep fiddling with it (for the 100th time).  

I think I did push the cab a tiny bit more forward but I still struggle with that whole 'spinal column/red section' tabbing together properly.      

 

Hmmm... Did you tab it into the blue side panels? Near the furthest forward red section (with the vents) is a set of tabs that the blue sections slide into.

 

I found 2 of each at a Walmart today. I already had 3 Reflectors and a Brunt from Amazon so I bought Red Alert.

 

O. M. G. That was it. I removed the white cab and just fiddled with the back half of the carrier, making sure the blue side panels were tabbing properly with the red roof section. And yup, there was some tabbing back there that very likely was never getting done every time I would transform him back into alt-mode. That was interfering with the tabbing. between the cab and the completed back carrier part.

Mystery solved. This was a plague in my head. I was really getting frustrated by the difficulty with this.
