Shit, this looks good. In robot mode at least. The beats mode head has a bit too much "junk" for the style they're going for.

That said, I have no choice but to pass. I've fully committed to the American BW designs, but there's just not room in the budget for a character I have no attachment to, regardless of how good it looks.

Wow. I’ve legit been saying the same thing for awhile. I have absolutely enjoyed everything that the Generations line has offered for the past 7 years or so. I’ve pretty much become heavily invested in Siege despite telling myself I had no interest in it because it was yet another G1-inspired toyline. However, it would be wonderful if other parts of this brand got acknowledged. It becomes rather galling that a line called “Generations” is only focusing on one generation and nothing else.

 

After reading all that I feel like I’ve been slapped.

I still really like the robot mode, as much as I wish he had the gold paint of the original.

The original Lio Convoy was one of my favorite BW figures, but I think I\'m going to pass on this version. 
Nice to see TT branching out, tho.

20,000 upwards would be crazy - simply because there aren't the licensing costs here, and this surely doesn't have the complexity we've seen in Sunstreaker, for example. Then again, we haven't seen what accessories will be in there yet.

 

Its Takara, they'll price it higher than its worth just because its got a prime looking face. Add that with the number of companies that have made ridiculously bad decisions on how to price their products this year, and you have a 60% chance of this happening  

 

I like the fact that he has two lion heads. I have to wonder if he's eventually be repainted/slightly retooled to be the toy version.

 

See this figure has made me decide to gives beast wars 2 a watch. As for the price, 150-200, the heels are the only part I'm certain are die-cast. I'm not quite sure of what accessories who could have. Takara seems to be using a pricier but more durable paint for recent mps and I imagine tt will have it mostly if not completely painted. I'm hoping for alternative expressions maybe like a growling face and a smiling face or some other positive face expression

 

Naw, it would make him about $160 after discount, I think the PE was about $130-150. There's other factors too, and since they havent dropped a numbered repaint in awhile, that may factor into as well as a potentially smaller audience vs other Primes.

 

I think it's possible. However, it wouldn't really have anyone to go with (e.g. the two versions of BW Primal represent two show aesthetics). I'd expect a Flash Convoy to be a certain repaint (with a Burning Convoy to match), and possibly a Black version.

Anyone else remember the Galvatron-coloured repaint?

Hopefully other BWII and Neo characters get their time to shine. Wouldn't mind for my avatar to get a release seeing as how he always saved the day in the anime. It does mean a mainframe character got pushed back.. which stinks for sure, but more Beast Wars releases is great news! Honestly this is hands down the best looking toy of Lio Convoy ever. I can't believe they pulled off the organic to robotic mane. Very clever too how there is even a robotic lion face hidden in there. Love the nods to the original toy too with the front lion legs/claws on the back of the robot arms. Also appreciate that the tail compresses in. Those of you who have messed with the original will know how much the tail limited arm articulation. Just overall amazing!! So happy we're getting this release. To those of you who are complaining I don't really get why.. you guys are getting what 3 G1 MPs this year as opposed to our two (assuming BA comes out on time), an entire mainline CHUG trilogy focused entirely on G1 and 84' cast, 3P constantly catering to you with legends, CHUG and MP scale, G1 reissues out at walmart, the best live action movie line ever in the form of Studio Series and probably a bunch more G1 related stuff I can't think of now. Beast Wars fans get a new MP reveal and all of a sudden it's "Where's my Jazz and Trailbreaker!!!". Guess what Maketoys and MMC have you covered. Can we all just get along and not poo on each other's interests. We're all Transformers fans at the end of the day.

He's very similar to the cartoon style non-transforming figure made of Lio Convoy back in the 1990's he has that Big boots look to him.
