Well I actually don't want to see Transformers and other Hasbro IPs in the MCU because it's going made the "normies" being confused of seeing both the Autobots and Avengers in same screen at the same time.

 

Totally agree; and people are going to have the same reaction to the X-Men in a few years...

This is something that will not happen, nor should it. The Transformers have existed just fine for almost thirty years without Marvel. Even then, Marvel's TF comics were, pretty much, in their own little world; separate from everything else.

To use a comparison, DC did Star Trek comics at about the same time. What would you say if someone suggested Klingons show up in a Green Lantern movie, because DC did Star Wars comics? It'd be laughable.

Now if this was fanfiction? I'd probably read it. However, officially, this would be a bad idea.

(Hypothetically, with the crew of the Lost Light bouncing around the multiverse, they could end up in the MCU-verse at some point. That would be a scream; Brainstorm and Tony Stark having a passive-aggressive "clash of the egos" would be just hilarious).

 

I'd like to see funny moments with such funny characters like Quill with Transformers.

 

I guess I could see if Paramount can't get it's act together and has to put out the for sale sign and then Hasbro has to shop around for a big studio to make movies out of all their cool toy lines.

Still a part of me has trouble making that leap of logic into mixing things up. At one point Marvel was printing Transformers comic books but other than having your friendly neighborhood Spider Man showing up Marvel Comics really didn't want to mix their brand with the Hasbro brand. Heck Marvel was printing GI Joe comic books but even with all that ninja action in the superhero comic books and the GI Joe comic books you'd never see Snake Eyes team up with Daredevil to take down a group of red clad ninjas. Ha ha we can't even get Paramount to mix GI Joe and Transformers, that Marvel wasn't big on either.

But since we are playing the what if game.

I'm guessing the Transformers would have some redesign by that point because I just can't Disney saying we are going to keep the Paramount look. I'm also guessing they would bring back the powers thing like G1 so that the robots could do cool stuff like teleport, turn invisible, produce force fields and the host of other cool abilities they used to have. With Marvel/Disney doing the big universe out there sort of thing I could see Cybertron as a planet that the Marvel characters just haven't visited yet. On Earth since Marvel/Disney loves the nostalgia thing I could see the Autobots and Decepticons being dormant until some event caused them to come on line again. A nice neat sort of way to say why they didn't show up during the other huge team events of the MCU.

 

I wish the joes had the same privilege.

Marvel Comics would have to buy back the rights to make Transformers comics before I feel like the idea should really be on the table.

 

I'll agree with this.

There's nothing being part of the MCU would do for Transformers. And quite honestly, I don't think anyone views Transformers as a franchise with the same degree of respect that superheroes get. Sure, superheroes films are still looked down on but tend to be viewed more positively than something like Transformers or Ninja Turtles, which are merchandise-driven toy franchises. It just seems like not many people want to be the guy who wrote/directed a movie based on toys, especially not after the trainwreck that was the Bay Saga.

 

I dunno, things like LEGO Movie show that you can make a toy based film work, you just have to respect and use what makes the toy interesting on screen, along with a well written plot.

Bayformers litterally has a movie where they removed transformation for some weird liquified metal shit like the T-1000. And that's on top of treating the titular characters as second tier outside of battles. And the inability to NOT have a mcguffin as the central plot element with the whole world at risk, AGAIN.

 

True. Bumblebee also kind of proved the same thing, so maybe I'm just reading too much into it.

I think I kind of blocked the KSI Transformers from my memory. But yeah, hopefully Bumblebee set a standard going forward and we get more bots as characters in more varied stories instead of more MacGuffin hunts.

 

Disney wouldn't be a good thing , if Marvel were part of another studio like Paramount who's knows. It's the same thing ask if the joes should come to the mcu.

 

We're not really in any position to be saying stuff like that considering the poor conditions our franchise is currently in with its current creative team and owners.
The MCU and all other disney things are thriving and get good treatment, meanwhile it took Hasbro and Paramount 10 years to get a decent film made. Lets not also mention all the shit shows we have been getting too (RiD, Machinima, Cyberverse, and so far theres tons of red flags for the upcoming Netflix show).

 

Assuming Disney is the only road to good media is the way you very quickly get bad media.

 

The MCU...definitely.
Star Wars...not so much.

 

It isnt so much Disney as it is Kevin Fiege that made the MCU so successful.

AFAIC, the movies were good, Cyberverse is a fun watch, and I'm looking forward to the Netflix show.
