Half the people wanting an official MP Jazz will be the same people who proclaim to hate it upon seeing TT’s rendition. That irks me.

I’m not naming anyone in particular so I can say this.

Well it’s too late for that now, I basically just finished superion if you count sg starscream to be a decent replacement for skydive. I finally found a decently cheap firefly that is the unite warriors version.
That’s three years of looking for a decently priced listing of two figures that I’ll never get back

I have a couple teams in my sales thread and have been asked numerous times if I'd sell the individual pieces. I won't, as it would make the rest of the team incomplete and I'd be stuck with them. I really don't want an armless Menasor or legless Bruticus.

As for a rant...well, not really a rant as much as an observation...
It's amazing how many people you see in a MP reveal thread there to insult or belittle the figure and those that want it, yet have never once been in the MP Appreciation thread. All these names I don't recognize pop in just to say how awesome the alternatives are, that the prices are ridiculous and the line is dying. Add to that the redundant negativity by a dedicated and predictable few and you have a recipe for disappointment.

It's been like that for a while with official releases, it kind of contradicts people being ran off official boards. I think there are people who have valid complaints or nitpicks, we all have them, but I think some people merely enjoy the poopshow, they get a thrill out of it. Fortunately they tend to burn themselves out, and eventually get bored and leave,it's like clockwork with releases.

I really don’t care if there’s a figure who has a vastly superior alternative. I want to buy the one I’m looking at. Just because there’s a better optimal optimus that exists or a better seeker mold than any official chug one, doesn’t mean I want it. I’m perfectly okay with my figures not being “the best representation of this certain character” because I really don’t care about the characters that much, I just want a representation of them. Also, im fine with spending my money on a okay figure that is of a character I don’t care about if it’s under a certain price range, usually if it’s under 150-200 dollars I’m fine with a figure not having a lot of paint or other stuff. It’s like mp, if I were to buy some mp guys they would be characters I really like, such as wheeljack

That's your safe space so they/we stay out of it. I thought that was the point, especially when "MP-X discussion thread" begets "MP-X positive discussion thread."

I generally don't post in dedicated appreciation threads. I express appreciation by A) buying figures at full retail, B) suggesting them when others ask for a second opinion, and C) praising them when they come up in regular conversations. I do find that harder to do with the direction some lines are moving and the struggle that purchasing has become though.

Probably for the best. There's already enough negativity around the fandom, sad as that is.

    It’s a Siege figure. It’s not like it’s masterpiece. There’s 0 point in nitpicking a mainline toy.

I personally don’t see a point in nitpicking minor details. Be grateful that we have so many options for our hobby.

Look at MOTU fans, those poor fuckers are stuck with Super7 shit.

I’ve gone the route of just buying the full combiner together as that actually seems cheaper than getting all the individual pieces I need.

Don't they still have that Collectors Club thing making regular He-Man figures (at like $49 apiece)?

It's the GI Joe bastards I feel sorry for. Their hobby has been reduced to excitedly waiting for the next hundred-dollar statue.

It's obvious that with a lot of guys it's not about the toys. It's misdirected bile stemming from the overwhelming unhappiness, emptiness, frustration, and disappointment they feel in their lives. They get a small thrill spreading their misery to others, makes them feel less impotent I guess.

I dunno, I've never gone into a thread for a figure that doesn't appeal to me, that I'm not going to buy, just to shit on it, the people that make it and the people who dig it, over and over and over. That's just sad, asshole behavior.

If you cherry pick. I've done alright buying the sets and flipping what I don't want. Just annoying to have to store them for a year.

Seconded for Joe fans though. They got caught in that trap where they didn't buy stuff, so retail didn't try as hard, so they didn't buy stuff, so retail didn't try as hard, so. Hopefully the Snake Eyes movie pulls the brand out of that tailspin.

Alright, so I was at my local Target a little while ago and thought I'd take a look at the Transformers in-stock. Per usual, there wasn't much of anything avaliable, but more importantly than that... I found this Seige Optimus. 20190614_142828.jpg Hasbro... what... the hell... is this? His lower torso is left completely unpainted! The quality control on these newer figures is absolutely abysmal at times. This really should not be happening!

Good lord. And notice, there’s no battle damage paint on his legs either.

You know, about the time I actually became interested enough in GI Joe to start collecting them, they pretty much were done. I remember reading a bunch about the downfall of GI Joe as a brand and figured it's only a matter of time before it comes back (can't let a potential cash cow die... again... for the second or third time...). This would be a perfect time for it as I slowed down on collecting a few other things. While I would like 6in GI Joe figures, it would make the vehicles too big to play with (and I have a hard of enough time figuring out where to put that stupid Black Series Tie Fighter as it is).

But anyway, onto my rant for the day. Because Siege feels as though it is releasing slower than previous series (it probably isn't but it feels that way), I decided to go back collect older Botcon toys I missed. I went and bought all of the 2008 Botcon toys I was missing (minus the custom class one because Minerva is enough) and you know what, I like them more than the Siege stuff. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the Siege toys but they lack the imagination and ingenuity a lot of the older toys had (though there were some duds back then). I mean, modern Transformers feel too much they are copying something better (and yes, I realize how ridiculous that sounds considering it's all based on G1) without trying anything too daring. I mean, I know they all can't be Animated or Classics in design but Siege lacks a sort of flare. Usually toys look better in person than in a picture but Siege hasn't been hitting that mark as often as it should. The engineering has gotten better for sure, but they're just missing something. I wish I could explain it better.

It's not enough to make me stop collecting them and I am not at the point of collecting them out of obligation or a completionist need, but it does give me pause.

I think you hit on it with your comment that the Siege designs aren’t particularly daring. I tend to agree with that as far as the bot modes go. I love them, don’t get me wrong, but some of them look maybe a little too G1. I can’t say I blame them for playing it kind of safe in that way, I guess, but some crazier designs might have upped the excitement factor.
