Part of me is concerned that it will be able to swivel at that back hinge which would be a bit of an annoyance when trying to pose the head—not the biggest deal, the hood does look gorgeous though.

Right there with you on this floating head nonsense. It’s not an issue until it becomes an issue. It may turn out loose and annoying, but hopefully it’s biased to always push towards the hood as you said. That would make sense.

I collect MP’s for the engineering of the transformations and articulation joints so bodies and limbs that are slightly out of proportion or face sculpts that aren’t quite right don’t bother me at all. In my mind they are alien robots so human proportions and facial features don’t matter. MP-10’s gorilla arms never bothered me. And now some are saying Hound’s arms are too short which is baffling to me. They look fantastic to me, just like the rest of this amazing figure.

I’m more excited for Hound than any other release this year. Mostly because it’s a new character for MP’s but also the engineering. The whole zero parts forming thing with the accessories is insane.

The floating head makes this a pass for me.

I agree completely! I love seeing all the new techniques and methods the designers have come up with recently! That’s part of the magic and it looks like there’s tons of innovations with Hound. I do like a bit of a shelf presence though so sculpt and articulation are a big part of what I like about mps as well and Hound is killing it. I just can’t wait to see where all those Jeep parts go in bot mode—those folding wheels caught me off guard and I love it!

I really find it incredible that one little potential issue that may be caused by a show staffer mistransforming the figure is a dealbreaker for some.

Oh well hopefully after it’s released and reviewed the head will turn out fine and more people will enjoy it.

The lack of Jeep kibble on the robot mode, even on the back of the figure is amazing. Especially considering that the accessories like the gas can, spare tire and rear mounted gun all stay on and fold up into the feet.

:lol  Oh man, all this argument about robotic decapitation! I think @Liampope hit it on the head with the downward detent. Even if the toy doesn’t have it built in (which it surely will), I’m sure there’s some sort of rectification we can make to “fix” it.

Tracks has the same problem with his neck, only the armature is coming from the front. And he doesn’t have a platform to rest it on. As good as he is, this is better.

The main "potential" issue for me is the floating head scrapes the hood autobot symbol when pressed down. I'm sure they have this accounted for, but it's a potential issue. That said, I preordered two of them and hope for a toy accurate color scheme down the road.

I'd be surprised if this is as much of an issue on the production version. What people are likely seeing is a painted prototype or a late stage prototype versus a final production copy.

If you're wanting to have toy accurate, might as well track down a Gundog. Toy paint feels worthless if he isn't toy accurate imo.

The more I look at this guy the more excited I get. Not only do I expect the production copies to be less gappy than his prototypes (just like Sunstreaker), but his color and unique shape/alt will really bring some life to my pre-movie Autobot shelf, he should be as fun to pose as Sunstreaker, and hopefully as fun to transform as the vans. Never had a deep connection with the character but barring any qc issues (AJ will have my back) he'll be $120 well spent here.

the "five"head isn't as bad in color vs the prototype.

I'm sure I can deal with the floating head, but we'll see about the piece in the back of the neck connecting it.

I do wish his eyes were a bit bigger...but I don’t anticipate it to be a big issue in hand. These zoomed in pics enhance things like that.

Exactly what I mean, on both accounts. The very suggestions you pose, TT didn’t do. There’s a reason for that.

    Welcome to the boards.
