I was initially disappointed that he couldn't have the door wings at his shoulders, but now that I see how well they tuck into his legs, the engineering won me over. They really went the extra mile on this line.. they could have been much more simple in design (flat out reproduced G1 transform but with articulation) but instead they doing creative little differences that really shine. I love these Newage cars, and because their ALTs are so perfect, on top of the carbots we haven't seen from anyone yet (mirage hound sunstreaker), I want their take on sideswipe and trailbreaker too.

 

Iron Factory has a Mirage (IF EX-37 Phantom) and Sunstreaker (IF EX-26 Racing Bros Boltrunner). They have planned a Hound (IF EX-38 Optics Hunter) which should be coming out in the near future.

 

Oh I know, I have them on order. I meant G1 representations, not IDW.

 

As Newage does good looking alt mode I'd like to see them do a Tracks. With a little bit tweaking you got a Wheeljack.

Just afraid their next year line is going to be Decepticons as they are making a Megatron after Ratchet. Gona wait and see how the Megatron looks and if it's better than the DX9 WiP one, don't like the feet of that one.

They've redesigned the insert for the upcoming clear Manero (aka Kagemusha)

I'm hoping that the two extra indents are for missile launchers. Perhaps one clear and one solid?

 

The box for Manero is stored away but can't remember Manero coming in alt mode.

Did Jazz ever have rocket launchers?

Don't mind them adding new items to the repaints but make it also possible to buy seperate for the original like the jetpack that came with Gremlin and Critter but not with Flipper who I can remember using it in the cartoon.

 

NewAge Manero came in Robot mode, and without rocket Launchers. The Toy version of Jazz had a very significant right shoulder launcher (as most are aware), but I don't think the toon version ever used one. Just the wrist hook cable.

 

I would guess you're right on the money with your prediction. I'd be annoyed that they didn't include the launcher with the original, since I don't buy clear repaints, but I already made my own launcher so I'm good.

 

If my guess does turn out to be true, I'm sure it's because they heard a lot of people complaining that Manero didn't have a launcher like the original toy. They clearly designed Manero as a cartoon version of Jazz which explains the original omission.

 

Also the fandom has gotten used to the launcher. Even Maketoys version of Jazz (Downbeat) who is VERY Toon came with the missile launcher.

I considered they may be door wings, but they are too curved.

 

Just receive it... its amazing... another contender for the best figure 2019 IMO... tons of paint, original transformatio, top quality, amazing robot and evenr more amazing car mode

 

Those three empty spaces are from the Datsun containers. Their blasters come in the top right, and shoulder weapons in the bottom two spots.

 

I'm going to disagree. Datsun container has a large area for the figure and no spot for the speakers, so the inclusion of those spots in the clear Jazz packaging seems purposeful for more accessories.

 

Maybe I'm misunderstanding you. I thought you were saying, "Don't expect anything to come with this Jazz because he is just sharing the same packaging as the Datsun boys." Or were you trying to say that the shape is the same as the ones for the Datsun cannons so we should expect them for this Jazz?

 

Some G2 love

 

Oh good, they're making more Jazzes. Don't really care for G2, but I have a pre-order for Capoeira [at a reputable store] that has been languishing forever and was beginning to think it would just get cancelled. But I guess they're rerunning the mold now. Sweet.

 

Clear windows! Too bad they're blue though. If they did just straight up clear or smoky black clear, I'd be all over him, then strip the stupid G2 paint apps and decal him up like my first Manero. In fact I'm actually pretty tempted to do that anyway (though I worry I'd strip the white paint off the roof right along with the G2 logo). Shame that both shoulder launchers are G2 colored - I'd have thought the second one would be black and silver to give the G1 people a reason to buy this guy.

Also the silver on the shins, feet, and abdomen are nice. Yeah, I might have to get this guy.
