In an alternate universe, Transformers 6 would've came out in 2 weeks.

Lets not forget that we were meant to get TF6 this month within 2 weeks had TLK done better

There's a part of me that's sad we won't see a Transformers movie every year, but it's probably for the better. Pretty much every franchise that's attempted a movie every year has fallen through, aside from Marvel. It just wasn't ever going to realistically happen. Especially since Transformers isn't as story-driven as Marvel. In the long run, I'd rather wait several years between movies, and get quality films. Even if the movies are bad, at least they have novelty when they're spaced years apart. The Last Knight and Age of Extinction are probably technically worse than any of the new Star Wars films, but I was legitimately more hyped during the buildup to those movies than any Star Wars since Rogue One. It's just become too frequent, they're not special anymore.

Think of it as a timeout. Paramount needs to reflect on what went wrong with TLK and sort out how they could replicate their successes with Bumblebee for future instalments.

Every year for a TF movie would be too often IMO. The anticipation really drops. That said, I'd really be up for a TLK sequel to conclude that story.

Thanks to the nearly zero robot action messy script of TLK.

That clearly says Transformers 7, since Bumblebee was (at the time) the sixth Transformers movie.

Marvel's really the only one who's been able to successfully pull off a movie every year, and keep people excited (multiple movies, in fact). It's kind of bizarre. Even Star Wars movies are becoming too frequent for audiences. I think Marvel's success must be because of how different their movies are, and how they focus on building the story forward, which keeps audiences wondering what will happen next. (This is part of the reason I'm worried about Marvel doing more prequels...I feel like their linear storytelling is part of the secret sauce that keeps audiences coming back).

In that alternative universe also, Bumblebee was directed by Michael Bay and it was whack. And Transformers 6 killed all chances of the series redemption.

Exactly. It's not like they had 10 Ironman movies or Thor movies. They continued to introduce new characters and movie styles while progressing the story.
I liked Solo because it felt different from other Star Wars movies to me. It took place in the same universe with the same characters, but it was a newer formula.

Honestly, I think Paramount and Hasbro learned the right lesson from the failure of The Last Knight which is that you don't try to create a cinematic universe for the sake of wanting to create competition against Marvel Studios. With the success of Bumblebee, the lesson they learned is that with the right approach is less on jump starting a universe and more focus on good storytelling and character development.

In an alternate universe, if Bumblebee turned out to be really bad then imagine the agony if it was here now.

Yea I think a big part of it is that every Marvel movie doesn't feel the same. Sometimes it's the big grand epic team up where a whole group of heroes must save the universe. Other times it's just Ant Man attempting to get his life together so he can spend time with his daughter. Sometimes things seem pretty dark and grim. Other times it just seems like the movie wants to take us on a fun action romp with some good laughs along the way. The end of the world stuff isn't always the same way of say that circle of doom in the sky thing that got overdone by Hollywood.

I think it also helps Marvel/Disney to keep the heroes different from each other. The DC live action movies were a real bummer for me when they were attempting to make all the heroes like Batman. But once they said screw that and now we can get things like Captain Marvel in Shazam I'm looking forward to more DC movies instead of dreading new releases. Kind of seems like there is always some character in the MCU where fans can say I love that character so much even though our tastes are all so different. If we are being brutally honest there isn't a character in the live action Transformers movie that I could latch onto like the MCU characters. Even when the MCU was struggling with proper villains you could still get something like Loki to make up for the times we got something like Whiplash.
