He is honestly one of my more anticipated releases as of recently, I just started putting together a g1 cross continuity wreckers shelf and it’s sorely missing impactor

I acually like Mirage since i dont have Mirage Toy. his vehicle is bassicaly Earth Drag Racer. The clear plastic is okay but it looks like Botcon 2007 Blue clear Mirage. His headsclupt looks great like Prowl.

Not bad. Will still wait for mmc mirage. The feet are a glare to an otherwise decent sculpt and on point face

ive got the foc version, but ruination is living in combined mode since the individuals dont really represent the characters well

the combined mode isnt bad if you give it a mix of the black xtransbots boosticus kit, bits of the echotf wrecktifier kit off of shapeways, perfect effect combiner hands and mistransformation. he can actually look pretty cool

Well, everything looks pretty good to me. Sure I would like Impactor not to have hollow legs or Mirage to have hollow arms, but the siege is still pulling off detailed characters with good colors and what seems to be great articulation. I am honestly bored handling figures from previous retail lines after messing with Siege figures.

fake chest on a cybertronian altmode, its just so lazy. Its one thing on a movie figure or the animation accurate MP's, but these don't have to be accurate to anything.

i have literally bought a copy of every figure in the siege line so far, but I cannot justify this one. I'm just gonna be fixated on the damn chest every time I pick it up.

It's weird how averse HasTak is to making Mirage an open-seat formula car when it comes to his own mold. The closest we've gotten was the Machine Wars repaint and the Combiner Wars Dragstrip repaint. I get that this line is Cybertronian, but I just never liked the cockpit approach to Mirage. That said this toy doesn't look bad; and frankly is far more evocative of the character than the Classics mold (the first Classics figure that I didn't like, back in the day).

In their defense in this case, it is likely he doesn't need an open seat because he does not need a driver on Cybertron. I imagine even having cabs and cockpits are holdovers from the days of Autobots being Quintesson slaves. It just isn't an aesthetic that is practical for self piloted vehicles. I think Mirage's design is clever, and have the fake hood chest serve as the rear of the vehicle mode is more clever than having to hide it in alt mode.

I can see this making a good Crasher/Fracture Repaint at least. The alt mode is somewhat suspect. The robot is \"Interesting\" I can see the upgrade makers being kept busy here with a new shoulder launcher and hand gun. and Impactor especially needs some leg filler very badly indeed.

If one assumes for a moment that Impactor is a pre-paint for something else and not designed to be who he is from the outset then what character lays inside that moulds other use do people think ?

I was thinking about it and I was wondering if he might make a decent Slammer (For Metroplex) The tank mode is quite close to that. Also the Tank mode and some elements of the robot remind me of Bludgeon too (mostly the inner Robot) I can also see his body working as some Action Masters too.

impactor was designed as impactor. all of the other fan votes have not been pretools with only victorion being retools out of necessity. on top of that of the fan voted figures windblade didnt get a retool till much later (though she got a sdcc repaint), trypticon didnt get a repaint or retool, and optimal optimus only got an sdcc repaint. there is no precedent for impactor to have not been designed to simply be impactor

Agreed. Who would sit in a tiny open-seat cockpit? I’d rather have a cleaner design then an unwieldy large cockpit that could sit a Titan master. Mirage never accommodated a large pilot figure anyway.

I also appreciate the fake hood design choice. The fake chest has better proportions on the robot torso (IMO).

So Omega is holding Thundercracker and he looks unassisted in this action. This is awesome.

I was not intentionally saying he >was< a pre-paint of someone else - I was just speculating if there is any other influences on the design that may not be immediately obvious - Much as I might suggest that Mirage was made kinda feminine looking to be suitable for a gender swapped repaint. I still think he looks like Bludgeon though or that pre-paint or repaint regardless there is some possible use as other characters in him like Slammer or Mainframe. I'm sure that Hasbro had some sort of repaint or Remould in mind (they often put a second head in the mould) I was just wondering what that might be - and if it might be aother Autobot or a Decepticon as unlike Mirage (and Crasher/Fracture) the repaint isn't as obvious.

That big line straight down the middle of the car mode is what kills it.

Too blocky for me. Looks like a g1 brick with articulation. Sticking with my generations one.
