Just got a info from a seller from one of our local hobby shops. The shop's supplier told him that Wendigo and X-Men Retro wave's released will be pushed to end of June to 1st week of July. I could guess it's for Asian release but who knows it could be also for US release as well. Chances are if they do it again, it'd probably be another exclusive. I'm still trying to get the original set myself. Will get the new one too if they make one.
So I guess the rumors of Walmart releasing the ML Binary Carol with the DVD release of the movie was false... Great, thanks Walmart now this figure will never see the light of day. You know what at this point why should I even f*cking care if I actually wanted this figure? Walmart have huge money to pay Hasbro to make figures for them. Yet once it's released, it's pain the ass to find in their stores. Can they just order a ton of it and fill their stores a ton of it?
Well well fucking well. I was actually able to acquire a Walmart ML exclusive, from Walmart (albeit online, but still) for the first time ever. Miracles do happen. It's a nice Carol, and for once I actually like the Brie head on her over the mohawk head. Her energy effects are a bit silly compared to the SHF firefists; like she's going to punch you with cosmic bowling balls. Still, I'm all for Hasbro upping their effects, even if it's irritating that we have to get these through an entirely separate release via a store that refuses to stock their own exclusives consistently in store or online. She has a name, Shanna the She-Devil. I could see another three-pack, but sprinkling Ka-Zar and Shanna into X-waves wouldn't surprise me either, given the X-Men's various adventures in the Savage Land. Shanna got a 3.75 figure a few years ago, as part of one of the later 3.75 waves, so they have something recent to pull from for her.
I ended up leaving the glowing balls in my accessories bin. She looks better without them. The arm energy effects and the glowing hands and head are all she really needs... the glowy balls are just... an odd inclusion.
What's the point paying Hasbro for making an exclusive figure for themselves if they can't restock it consistently? My initial understanding about store exclusives is that it should flood their shelves since they're bragging it's "exclusive only to us so come here we have a lot of it for you".
