But I think that’s the unifying pattern for these choices- they are all part of a set. I think this is simply a way to gauge fan interest in collecting a new set of figures.

I mean if Skrapnel wins, I think that will give Hasbro the confidence to complete the Insecticons.

We’ve already seen Hasbro do this with the Autobot Monsterbots, Decepticon Targetmasters and Duocons, Blackwing and Dreadwing...

Gnaw is not part of a set but he sorta is if you also use him as a troop builder.

Regardless, I trust Hasbro/Takara with whatever wins this poll.

This, plus the fact that two of these characters already have figures, is why I’m not really hyped for this vote. It would be nice if Hasbro also said, when the vote goes live, “should any of the other three win, we will also make their team mates so people can complete their teams” or something along those lines. As of now, I’m not sure how much of that is a possibility.

It actually is about being human-sized. Starting with Siege, the Generations line is in a unified scale. About 1:35. The -masters are 2 meters tall, roughly human-sized. The Battlechargers are around 4 meters tall, or a short Deluxe. =D

    I'd buy one of those.

Part of me, wants a leader Astrotrain, the other part wants to wait and see what the next line will be. Reason being, I want him to be a true triple changer. With this line, he’d prolly be like Shockwave. A train with parts forming shuttle parts.

    This is a Transformers discussion.
You mentioned "unified scale" in a Transformers discussion.
I just wanted to point it out, because you didn't seem to notice.

With the new commander class I think an Astrotrain and Skylynx would work really well there. That also allows it to be marketed with smaller scale figures for playability and display.

No. Needlenose had his chance, it’s runamuck’s time to shine.

I meant if retailers allowed it (which I'm aware they probably wouldn't)

I swear to Primus if Runamuck isn’t chosen I’m gonna lose it.

What if they're soliciting RunaBOUT for the poll?

He would be alright, but given the head shape, I’m pretty sure that’s runamuck.

Seeing as I've bought all of these since 2015, I really don't have a clear choice.

We got Shrapnel, Runamuck, and Runabout in Combiner Wars. Personally, I like my Battlechargers as Stunticons. And as for Shrapnel, we just completed our Insecticon set this year, I'm in no rush to do it again.

Botcon gave us a great combining Needlenose with both of his Targetmasters. But I can see how those who didn't pick him up would want this one. He will likely win.

TR gave us a decent Gnaw. But another one so soon?

I guess I'll sit this vote out.

This is sort of the downside of Hasbro essentially remaking our childhoods. I won't say that the tap is running dry, because I could think of many more TFs I'd like to see over these 4 choices, but if they think these are worth voting on I'm a bit mystified by that. Just pretty lame choices all around.

I'd say it's almost about time for them to start remaking Beast Wars toys, honestly. Especially ones that had gold plastic syndrome or Transmetal flaking syndrome. *hint, hint*

    There's no reason to worry.

Given that we got some BW characters in Thrilling 30, Optimal Optimus in POTP, and several MP Beast Wars figures, I actually thought we were going to be getting a Beast Wars-themed line within the near future.

While I’ve enjoyed all of the G1-inspired stuff these past 7 years or so (Siege is my favorite Generations line. I am absolutely loving it), I’m honestly ready to move on. I didn’t get into Transformers until 2008 when I was 10, and now that I’ve had my fill of G1, I’d like to start seeing BW and maybe the Unicron Trilogy get some love.

Oh. If it’s commander that’s a whole different story. I was basing my assumption on the rumor of a leader class ‘Train.
