5 seconds is a rookie move. 3 seconds or dont bother. 5 leaves enough time for anyone to take it from you.

also, i would imagine this will sell for around the same that the last one just sold for. i think it was around 60ish.

Man, sometimes I play the sniping game. But if it is something I CAN'T live without, I set my maximum bid at the beginning of the week and walk away.

I've never understood eBay sniping. If I'm willing to pay $60 for something, that isn't going to change if somebody outbids me. So I just put in my $60 bid and leave it alone. If I get outbid, I get outbid. I don't see how putting in that bid 5 seconds before closing works any better.

I was seriously tempted to bid on this guy but I've already blown through double, maybe triple, my June fun budget so I really need to calm down and wait to buy anything else until next month. I haven't been planning on collecting any Headmasters figures despite having fond memories of those late Marvel comic days but I was a little tempted for this guy since Fort Max was such a major character and I really enjoyed the whole him being Spike thing.

Just because you won't doesn't meant that there aren't plenty of people out there who have your restraint. So let's say I'm willing to pay $70, and I put that it. The guy bidding $60 sees that it went up, then counterbids until it goes up. And then maybe I think, "Eh, I guess I do kind of want it." So I up my bid. Next thing I know I'm winning an auction for $106 that I could have had for $70 if I'd just waited to put in my initial bid.

You snipe to avoid fools who want to win at any cost. I’ve gotten great deals sniping and putting my max bid in at the last second. If I had done that at the onset, then some fool who can’t lose will inflate the price

Hm. Fair enough. Now that I think about it, I was that fool once way back in 2001. Wanted the mega scf Megatron and put in a bid. Got outbid and was like, "oh well," and went to bed. Laid there for a few minutes before thinking, "NO!" Got up, and went back to the computer and raised my bid, then went back to bed. In the morning, I had won the item. If the other guy had sniped, I wouldn't have gotten it.

Still, sniping is just too much trouble for me. I usually just make sure to go on sometime during the last day of an auction and see how it's going. If it's still less than I'd like to pay, I'll throw in a bid. If not, I walk away. If I get outbid, I get outbid, but if I tried to remember to go on eBay right before an auction ended, I'd forget and lose track of time every time.

I have and love this figure. I’m a big fan of the marvel comic so it works great that he is about leader sized. My only complaint is that they need to make a scorponok in the same size

Iron Factory Lord Scorpion. Especially with the mod that allows the Titan Master Scorponok to be used on the body.

been checking out IF Lord Scorpion for quite a while now. Lord Scorpion stands at 7" tall thereabouts, while Infinitor here is at 9" There's a thigh adapter in Shapeways which adds an inch to Lord Scorpion. Unfortunately I haven't seen anyone out in the open, use that adapter.

It's the 2014 Botcon Exclusive Scorponok, which is a repaint of 2004's Energon Scorponok with a new head. And unfortunately, he probably will make your wallet bleed.

yep those words are guaranteed to make my wallet bleed or make my card melt. now to look for that Energon Scorponok instead. might be a wiser alternative.

While not a bad looking figure, without the new paint job and head of the Botcon exclusive, I don't think the Energon version will scratch a g1 Scorponok itch. IF Lord Skorpy remains your best bet!

Honestly, that 2 inch difference doesn't bother me because of how much greater the height difference was in 1987.
