It does look good but agreed about the price. The lack of the iconic JP tracked visitors explorers or jeeps (to actually go through the JP gate entrance) is a big letdown too. Their inclusion would've made the price make more sense to me. I'd rather have the vehicles than all those random vignette scene pieces. Yes, even the toilet. There's no slimy lawyer Gennaro minifigure for the T-Rex to chomp on anyway.
Rexy does look better with the higher-res pics available, and with multiple angles. Head seemed too square in the low-res leaks, but now I can see a fair bit of contouring going on there to get a more accurate shape. I really appreciate that they put in the effort to give her binocular vision.
I just came across Lightailing light sets for Lego (Lightailing | Custom-designed Lego Lighting Kit-Free Shipping) - does anyone have any experience of them? Are they any good? Does anyone know what the difference is between the Lighatiling and Briksmax sets offered on the same page? Some Lego sets have both available as options and I'm not sure what the distinction is.
I helped someone install Lighttailing kits in their modulars - from what I remember they're quite bright, but also the cables are very fragile. If you're getting them for modulars, do note that it's 1 cable with the lights on it, so you won't be able to separate the floors afterwards without taking them off first.
Also keep in mind that some of the wires will need to be sandwiched between tiles and studs, meaning some pieces won't sit like they're designed to.
My local W-M finally restocked the Disney minifigs, so I was able to hunt through for the Triplets and finish off everything I wanted from the set.
The T-Rex looks pretty great. Still would've preferred this being $200 rather than $250 though. Maybe the next time they have a Double VIP Points promotion, I'll pick it up.
I like how the Lego designer said straight up in the interview that he stole the design of the T-Rex. I know he was being facetious but some fans might take his words too literally.
