Not sure if it is common but didn't seem like if from reading most this thread. Mine came perfectly great.

Honest question here... do you feel like this guy is worth ~US$214 shipped? I only own two figures I've spent more than that on - Atlas and MP43 (who hasn't even arrived at my supplier yet) - so I'm having trouble committing. Even my citybots cost less than that! Plus I can only get him for that basic price if I order another 'bot at the same time, since it's about US$20 more for the shipping if I only get one, which means the entire transaction is about US$397 (#2 would be Gutter) making it even more nerve-inducing.

Thoughts? Would be chrome variants of both, to better match the detailing on Reximus Prime (though their gold will make his look a little flat).

If you're wondering, I'm taking the advice and looking for a reputable source. Was severely tempted by an AliExpress dealer currently at 20% off ("Yamala knick-knack Store" for those playing at home) but it's probably in my best interests going with somewhere like Robo Toy Base (Chimungmung) instead for peace of mind - plus that way I get the original packaging.

You could try eBay and maybe get it cheaper, there are Chinese sellers that are good, and there is a list on the forum of all the good sellers that @ChromeMagnus started

Believe me, I've checked. That's about the best deal I can find from a dealer I know to be reputable. Plus I'd have to add about 14% on to whatever I find from eBay for fees and GST (I've already added that to my RTB costs), which pushes even the best of them to within a few dollars. For example, the current cheapest is US$155 with US$29.50 shipping, which comes out to roughly US$206.20 (give or take, since the total added isn't just the 10% GST but is less than 15%) - and they're not on ChromeMagnus' list.

First from ChromeMagnus' list is US$194, so ~US$221.16 after the extra.

Someone recently picked up a GP dino for under $150 shipped but it was from Taobao.com.

Not sure if "worth" is the write word to use, haha. But assuming you live in Australia, and that you want to complete a dinobot set of some sort, this is probably as cheap as you're going to get for a long while. All the fanstoys releases were about 200 each, and looking at how much mp-44 is going to be, 214 shipped to australia should be a decent price if you're taking all things into consideration.

I don't know about current pricing but at launch Graviter was less than $200 AUD if I can remember correctly, through Taobao.

Under AU$200 would be wonderful, but unless there's a re-issue (which I still haven't been able to find out about) I don't see it happening. Trying to sort out TaoBao, having read about ordering through there, is something I'd rather like to not have to do.

I'm getting the feeling, though, given the way the conversation has gone that he's not really considered to be worth that much. Good, but not that good. To which I now have a slightly altered question: what would you consider him to be worth, shipped? Not necessarily what you paid for him if you already have him, but what you'd be willing to pay to get one (assuming you didn't already have one if you do).

Tricky one as I've never paid over the original asking price for anything. I'm perfectly happy going with used to achieve that.

Value or worth is a hard one as it's different for everyone. For me, the size, bling, accessories make the original purchase price at launch worth it. I compare them to Fanstoys in price and I feel like I get more bot for buck with Giga. I'm not necessarily talking diecast and quality. I'm talking the whole package overall, plus their larger size is a welcomed bonus.

I have my fair share of Fanstoys too so I'm not a hater of theirs either :D

    For me: Yes.

As long as he is in perfect working condition without any damage or defects. But he is a great figure, the ultimate representation of toon Sludge and worth the $$$ to me.

He is worth the money. But nobody knows if he get a good one. The more I buy and the more I read about them the more it seems like a gamble if you get a good copy. My Gaudenter had severe paint chips right out of the box. I am waiting for replacement parts since 6 months. I think he will always look like a battle worn Dinobot. I’m not pleased with GP QC with their price tag. But they are beautiful and I bought two others after him. Not a decision with the brain but with the heart.

So! I heard back from Gigapower. Only one brief sentence, but it sounds like there's a small re-run happening (which is likely what BBTS is listing).

On hearing that, I did another quick search... and I've ordered one. RoboToyz, based out of Sydney, Australia, has him listed on pre-order for AU$250 (~US$174) plus AU$15 shipping, and since it's my first order I got 10% off. Halved the shipping by also grabbing one of those Walmart G1 OPs (so Graviter works out to AU$232.50, or ~US$162). It's not the greatest of prices for either of those, but it's far from terrible - plus no futzing around with currency conversions, GST and/or other mystery fees.

Never ordered from them before so it'll be interesting to see what happens over the next 8 weeks or so (June/July ETA). They do seem quite highly rated, though, so I'm reasonably confidant.

I much prefer Taobao over local Australia Robo Toys or Toybot. They are expensive.

Your best bet is oh my primus or tftoys.com.au. They're the cheapest by far for online and accessible for Australians. Don't think OMP charges GST either

Ordinarily I'd use OMP, TerryTFS, or TFSToys. But sometimes there's no listings (as is the case here) or I find the occasional pricing gem (though that has meant waiting a VERY long time for MP-43 to get him for under AU$400).

As I mentioned earlier, I'd rather avoid Taobao. For someone who's perpetually exhausted it sounds like a potential source of some major headaches.

How did you go with batteries for Graviter, Faithfulfy? I tried AG1 (364/621/600) AG3 (392) AG4 (377) AG5 (393) AG12 (386) with no luck. I asked GP on FB too.

Just got a response from GP re: their upcoming Graviter reissue:

    - small batch reissue to Chinese distributors
    - no fixes for some of the more common issues (wrists, accessory fit, thigh ratchets); the exact words were “just about the same”
    - no details on exact dates of availability but they’ve already taken payments from distributors

My understanding is it's going to be out by the end of the month. An e-mail from RoboToyz the other day informed me that my pre-order is now just an order, so it should be shipping within the next couple of weeks. Whether that's because his suppliers are taking funds or because they actually have them in inventory is another thing, but it's probably asking too much to go prying into that kind of detail.
