So, semi-on topic question?
Anyone think Jetfire will start off as a Con in the comics, since he has the whole badge flip gimmick?

 

I wouldn't be surprised if that ended up being the case.

 

I was thinking that Jetfi're's new Size Class would be pretty cool or a new Sky Lynx.

 

Jetfire going to spend most of his time armored up.
He'll only be unarmored for situations involving science!

 

It's fairly accurate to the animation model, even from the side.

Super stoked theyre toning back the battle damage, and putting more effort into it on the spots they decided to keep it. It looks like Skyfires totally clean which is nice, ill be putting him on my MP shelf next to Starscream. While he's super massive with the siege Starsream, i think he will scale pretty darn well with the MP one! Finally get the friends back together, always was one of my favorite character arcs.

Also, I thought Refraktor was already out? Some guy is selling one on Craigslist here in GA.

 

On my list it is Brunt, 3x Reflektor, Red Alert. Though Jetfire also itches my interest. Problem is money, this is a lot of money for 1 wave to fork at least for me. But if I got a hundred spare Jetfire is mine. Thing is I got a Takara leaderclass already and that figure is great. But this one is so much more over the top Jetfire. He has that wow factor.
Brunt for me is a must since it goes with my Tryptibaby. As for Reflector, already should have had 3 of those 5 years ago. As for Red Alert I do not own a Red Alert and since that mold is stunningly good "I got a Sideswipe" I will get the Red Alert.

I suspect he meant the toy, which was a Valkeryie figure with autobot symbols slapped on the side and call it a day.
I think most figures from back then would not pass scrutiny with the fanbase. Though the exact toys are still loved. Imagine bringing a shell-former to the fandom, people would riot. Re-release Scourge and people buy it like hot bread from the shelf. Skyfire might be the only one with enough fan support for both the Valkeryie and the animated look.

 

I appreciate what you're saying. I'm not a huge fan of the animation model vehicle mode, but the issue I'm taking with the side of vehicle mode is what the toy has added: the shoulders and upper arms just "there" with nothing hiding them, and a gap around the forearms and behind the cockpit where it meets the backpack, as well as a smaller gap around the robot knees. The robot parts I mentioned also show up much worse on the underside. Those gaps and poorly-concealed robot parts take away the cleanness of the animation model for me.

Jetfire is currently not available at MSRP on Amazon. Not sure if it means anything, just an observation.

 

With a bit of remolding, Brunt would make a nice Tankor repaint

 

Perfect steal. People were so desperate for a combiner HasTak was like. You know what? We still got some interns that need designing experience, let's let them design a toy! Fans will buy it anyways. And so became Fruiticus.

 

You know that actually makes alot of sense. the way Fruitcus looks all combined is exactly how most interns pose Transformer toys at shows......

I just disagree and I think I made a pretty good case for my opinion before. Notice how there's no shoulders showing at all, the hips go right front of the fuselage in the art, while the actual toy has the whole shoulders and upper arms there with all the gap that includes before the hips start:



If you're fine with that much gap on an airplane, enjoy your toy, that's fine. I don't like that much gap, it's a lot of gap and robot parts showing for my tastes, even if this weren't an $80 toy I'd be put off. But it's not remotely as clean and sleek as the character art sheet you called out.

What DinobotSnarl means is that those shoulders/arms are not protruding from the fuselage silhoutte. Despite them being visible, they're fully contained - unlike Siege Starscream's legs which stick out from the actual tetra jet silhouette.

So in that sense, Siege Jetfire is quite an engineering accomplishment - certainly because the cartoon line art features a physically impossible transformation.
