Ironically the FF's OG origin may become less cheese-ball ridiculous "cut the shit" silver age bullshit. What with private space flight just about a thing. So you could have Robert Oppenheimer (Reed), taking his girlfriend Marilyn Monroe (Sue), her kid brother (Johnny), and his bestie from the army (Ben) on a joyride into space. For science and stuff. Or if you're going to do Ultimate FF (which all movies since the 94 one pull from). Then fucking do it. Have the FF be living representations of the 4 elements. Have Reed be a living blob of silly puddy like Ben is a living pile of rocks. Have Doom be a goat legged living metal thing that can shoot poison gas from his own rotting organs that he doesn't need anymore.
The Strange one is not a error, even Kevin Feige back in 2014 when TWS came out, stated that Strange was still a surgeon at the time, so he was never intended to be a sorcerer yet, remember that in the movie, they even state HYDRA are targetting current threats and those that could become a threat in the future, so Zola predicted that Strange would become a threat in the future, thus he needed to be taken out now, even though he was just an surgeon. So there is no continuity error here if the intend was for Strange to still be a surgeon in 2014.
Actually if you look at the timeline of Dr. Strange when Winter Soldier happened he was already in training in Nepal. He had his accident around the time of Ironman 2.
You would think so but no. Avengers Tower is visible in New York prior to the car accident. Considering it was Stark Tower until the events of Avengers, Strange's accident couldn't have been around Ironman 2.
I don't care about speculating. All I know is FF is the First Family of Marvel and always more important to me since childhood than the Avengers or X-Men and they need justice on the big screen other than The Incredibles. Sometimes I wish Disney took over earlier so the Incredibles could just be the first MCU movie called the Fantastic Four like it should be. Either way, give me the FF and Doom done right! That's all I ask. Will check back on this thread in a few years to see how it goes.
Well I hope that they make Reed and Ben being autistic and Jewish, having Mole Man as the Main Villain (bonus points if he is played by Danny Deveto), having the Frightful Four as he's minions, teasing Doom and Letveria, and if be cool that they might their ship got trapped in the Negative Zone and got save by Ant-Man and The Wasp in today so they realize somethings happens while they are gone in 61 years.
FF was one of the first superhero comics I ever got. Never collected regularly but did get a handful of them. So they do have a special place in my heart. I'd say the first film in the 60's then either Negative Zone them or something Reed makes brings them to the modern time. Pretty much what Captain America 1 & Captain Marvel did. I'd be down for Mole Man being the 1st movie's villain. Got to recreate the first issue's cover!
Fantastic Four 2022 Rumor Debunked By Purported Marvel Insider "MCU has enough on their plate already."
I thought it was probably fake. While F4 requires very little planning to fit into the MCU, there’s no way they’d be turning around something that fast. I’d rather see that than Eternals or Shang Chi at this point though, but the MCU has proven me wrong before, and those could be totally awesome still.
I guess the question is, who is going to buy the Avengers Tower Stark left behind, Norman Osborn or Reed Richards? Though, considering in Iron Fist the Baxter Building was under construction, it's probalby going to be Norman.
Honestly, no matter how good or bad the F4 does under Kevin Feige, it would probably look like a masterpiece compared to the last two attempts. That doesn't mean Feige already has plans in the work. He has to have some thoughts on what he wants to do with them.
Thank christ. Hopefully that just means that Fiege is well aware that no one needs yet another attempt at the lamest "first family" again any decade soon.
Well, now that we know that the film is in development, this thread isn’t a total loss. Any Riverdale fans in here? Fantastic Four: Zack & Cody Alum Wants to Play Johnny Storm Thoughts?
Have them start off in the 60’s as scientists, something goes wrong and the power cosmic shoots them through time or to different parts of the, now confirmed, multiverse trying to get home- similar to Sliders or something, and they end up in modern day- Doom has always been around, just never needing/wanting to leave Latveria until he felt it was the right time. If they can make any man a popular movie they can do the FF no problem. Doom is for sure on their radar for a future avengers threat that’s a lot more intimate than the huge galactic stuff (that being based primarily on earth).
I wouldn't say "no problem" with this. At all. Not by a long shot. Take away what's left of the 12 nerds that give any iota of a shit about the FF, the rest of the box office contributing worldwide general populous will 100% need a convincing argument to be made to give this (beyond lame) franchise a THIRD chance. Iron Man, Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, The Avengers, Thor, etc etc etc. didn't completely bottom out AND fail with their first 1-2 (even 3) outings first.
I’m only saying yes because people always say I look just like him (just to clarify, I’m not his twin either).
The fact they’re back with “marvel” is enough of a marketing push to make what it needs to. Literally whatever they put out will do well at this point, don’t see why the FF is any different because you don’t like them.
