theres literally no design evidence of that considering there is no combiner port or anywhere for one to go (and before you cite punch/counterpunch, he was an aberration that was released outside of the primary line and wasnt necessarily restricted to its design gimmicks)

ironhide is relatively hollow as well

I’ve said before I think it’s evident there’s multiple designers on this line and sometimes they work well and sometimes they don’t mesh the best.

You look at Shockwave soundwave and Starscream and Magnus who have an insane amount of detail that some love and some hate. Then you have Optimus, Megatron and sideswipe who don’t have that same amount of detail.

Same can be said for Ironhide as you said and Impactor and Refractor. Both have a fair amount of hallowness which for me is no biggy these days. Shoot there’s still some people who say Ironhide is a retool of TR Kup which is not even possible. It’s completely different figure and design

Doesn’t mean they’re designs abandoned from old lines it means (to me) is that there’s a lot of different designers working on WFC

Does this particular upgrade version of Optimus have basis in comic or show?

But siege now makes 3. He’s now had more toys than Wheeljack in a chug scale

and one of impactors was an exclusive that was locked behind a paywall. plus if you want to say chug scale then wheeljack has had at least 3 since the prime deluxe can work in a chug scaled collection

Would likd a touch more weathering, but like the look of him overall.  Not liking the hollowishness on his legs though, thought we moved away from that.

He’s a large deluxe, as has been pointed out. Ironhide is pretty hollow too

Ironhide hides it a lot better though tbh. It's still not a dealbreaker to me but it would've been nice if they could've hid the hollowness a little bit better.

The cover that PrimalFury posted was also the first look at the design of the inner robot before we got to see pictures of the toy, oddly enough.

I know but I’m just talking officially labeled for CHUG but I know what you mean. First Edition Prime Optimus was used in my CHUG line for a while coz i got so tired of 2006 Classics Optimus and I think I did use Prime Wheeljack too because while I do love the 2012 Generations one I just needed a little change.

I’ve done plenty of repurposing myself with others. transmetal Tarantulas, FE Bulkhead, Movie breacher, Prime Knockout, Prime Arcee(renamed), Prime kup (renamed) ROTF Lockdown, movie spacecase and Terradive, ROTF Bludgeon, my 7 Prime Vehicons are all in my CHUG collection.

When I mean he’s gotten 2 it’s just ones that are officially GHUG figures. Exclusives included

Impactor is sad because he knows he’ll need a 3rd party upgrade kit. Either that, or more people will seek out the MMC Spartan now that they’ve seen him.
