Actually, it does happen in real life. I recall over 10 years ago, I was at a circuit city and grabbed an external hard drive off the pegs (the last one) and brought it up front to pay for it, but when scanned, the cashier wouldn’t let me pay because apparently someone purchased it online for pickup. I stood there, had customer service manager come over, but to no avail. Now, maybe that type of behavior/business practice is why they went out of business (can’t really take a smug ‘thats what they get’ attitude as the influx in online purchases from vastly more options was likely moreso the culprit); but that’s the reality of what does happen/did happen ‘in real life.’ Also, isn’t ‘steal’ a rather strong word for that occurrence? It’s really more of a ‘first to pay, wins the day’ scenario without you (or others) having to fight through, wait in, or wade through lines in order to do so.
Look, I agree it's frustrating, but the back end cost for NECA to fix the issue when it happens three days out of the year isn't worth it. 362 days a year their system is fine and doesn't have issues, you don't overreact and spend money to fix a problem that is for only three days. It's frustrating, it sucks, but you gotta realize that HLJ/AmiAmi have these kinds of nights monthly, and even they don't do anything about it. It's just part of the game at this point.
Total bullshit. Had them in the cart and was in the checkout section and stolen right out of the cart. Assholes
Same. I switched to using my desktop instead of my phone. Still took some mad cart refreshing, because the cart was still timing out and freezing. Once I got through with PayPal, I was home free (although I had a mini heart attack before I noticed my phone # didn’t auto fill preventing me from completing the order). I didn’t notice the bundle pack today. Was that a yesterday only thing?
The bundle didn't even get the chance to get posted before the turtle set was gone so it never went up is the reasoning.
I can see that. I just thought it was curious cause it was the first one I saw populate yesterday while spamming refresh.
SUCCESS!!!!! Got me the TMNT set off NECA's site thanks to some help from a tip a friend gave me since the "Chcek Out" button was not working. Now I won't have to wait to see if the figures get released at GameStop later on like I did the turtles. (Though some extra Foot Soldiers might be tempting)
Aside from the Turtles, all of the other exclusives are still up as of this post (1:08 PM). Even the super expensive bundle $365.00 action figure bundle (which included the Turtles set) is now gone.
I noticed that all of the TMNT Classic NECA 2-pack shelf labels were gone from my local Targets. Guess they've come and gone. Had to resort to evilBay to get Michelangelo since I had passed on the couple that I saw in store (thrashed boxes). I guess 3/4 at retail isn't too bad for something that only got three distribution passes, apparently.
You know... I've noticed that Neca... no matter what the product (exclusive or mass release)... always seems to have a very small distribution window.
I honestly don't think I ever saw any TMNT 2-pack shelf labels at any of my Targets. Those things went fast.
One Target had just one label for Leo/Shredder and stocked all four versions behind it. A couple of others had a full four facings, one label per version. Now, they're all gone. It was neat to see an Aliens Marine (APOC) in the NECA section, though. Really hit the nostalgia button because I remember seeing them in the Kenner catalogue/booklet and on the pegs. I don't collect them so I passed, but I'm sure someone who does will snatch it up quickly because yeah. Maybe if there was a purple Gorilla Alien released. I actually had that one back in the day.
I really think NECA should pack General Trag with Raphael then another Foot Soldier. I have Michelangelo/Foot Soldier and Leo/Shredder. I have a few sets still available at a few Targets around.
The TMNT arcade line and TMNT 1990 movie line are different licenses. So you could pack an arcade foot soldier with traag, but not a movie. I wonder if arcade slash and traag will eve get repainted and come out in the toon deco? I'd like that much better but will grab the arcade ones over nothing (if they ever actually release the damn things after two years of teases at shows).
I've noticed a small window on initial release, but majority of their stuff is available even years later to buy online from various reputable stores, along with all the usual factory seconds from china.
