Same here. 117 usd plus maybe 15 for cheap shipping when he’s released is pretty close to what I was hoping to pay (preferring less but close enough for me).

 

This has been a tougher choice than I expected. The design team have done an amazing job capturing the design and character in both modes, this is head and shoulders above MP-44 and 45 who IMO suffer to vary degrees in both modes to accommodate show accuracy and/or articulation. Whilst being hoplessly addicted to what they are doing with Beast Wars Ive been quite lukewarm towards G1 MPs of late but this one...I really like! Hound is one of those few show characters that I have some love for, he didn't have much of a role in the comic, so I'm OKish with the overly toon look. Im so glad his alt-mode is real world though, after MP-45 I thought we might see a more extreme toon look. I would have appreciated more metallic looking sliver (not so much chrome) rather than this grey/beige, he's thighs look off when you compare them to Ironhide's for example. Most of the accessories are cool, unnecessary but cool, I certainly have no need for that canopy but man...I could overlook all of that if the price was right. Sadly it is not, and I just don't love Hound enough to override my common sense the same way I can with BWMPs and pull the trigger.

Not to mention, as I seriously considered preordering him, I noticed AE had lined these two up together to give me a reality check. I took it as a sign.

I should point out that the only reason I feel I can afford this is that it's the only MP I'm interested in this year. Christ only knows how you folks who also have Bumblebee and Optimus on order are coping.

 

MP Hound is officially solicited, and I'm officially unimpressed.

It's so "meh." It's beyond "meh." It's like beneath the valley of the super "meh."

I really wanted all the Diaclone cars but this piece simply does nothing for me in either mode. Maybe a more toy-styled repaint would do more for me, but as it is, I just feel dead inside. Nothing. What a bizarre response. I'm not used to feeling that.

Oh well. Guess I'm really done with these things. It's not even the price either. If it looked like a fun, cool toy like Sunstreaker, I'd preorder without a second thought. But this just looks like blah city. It's SO flat and boring, both in color and shape.

Hey, if you love it, knock yourself out. I hope it and Giant Backpack Prime and Birth Defect Feet Bumblebee bring joy to a lot of people's lives. I wish I could share that joy, but it seems like most of what I loved was what Hasui brought to the table, and that ship sailed away years ago.

No worries...I have enough toys to enjoy for the rest of my life really, so maybe it's time I started buying useful stuff like furniture and appliances?

Mmmmm. I'd love to see how the jeep mode scales with the MP cars. I mean I know it won't be in scale, but close enough to trick my stupid brain into thinking it might be would be nice.

Jezzz....seriously guys there is no boycott, some people are choosing not to buy recent MPs based on price as is their right. IF enough do so MAYBE it will hit TTs bottom line and they will reconsider their pricing strategy. They can do this in many ways, they can reduce their profit margin, they can pack in less accessories...etc...etc, it doesn't have to result in 'cheap looking' MPs or the end of the line. It probably wont make a sizeable enough dent now, but if things continue on this upward trajectory surely TT will have to hit a glass celling sooner of later?

Glad to see that TakaraTomy black magic back in effect, like wtf how do all those elements in alt mode dissapear.

Shipped to the UK from Nippon Yasan its £112, going to wait and see what the lads over at Kapow are listing him for before I put my preorder in.
A little cheaper than what Sunstreaker usually goes for, really no reason for me to complain.
