All the best to you Seth. You were a joy to listen to, and I always looked forward to what you had to say. If you were a superhero, you would be Danny the Street. A salute to you, Sir.

Will continue to look forward to any guest appearances.

    Seth, you will be missed.

Also I think I have stacks of both the Palladium Robotech books and Battletech books floating around in a few basements ( my own, my parents, a guy I lent them to 15 years ago..)

You mentioned doing DnD stuff and not liking your current group. Do you need people to play with? My friends and I play online since we've moved away from each other.

Thanks Seth for your fun commentary, and wish you well.

Speaking personally, unless there’s co-hosts banging on Vangelus metaphorical door, I’d suggest just doing the even episodes here on in, with the same break between recordings. Leaves Chis more free time to edit & you won’t have two separate podcast episodes covering the same event.

My only complaint about this episode is that Vangelus didn’t end his disclaimer with a ‘You Have Been Warned!’, like the warning at the beginning of the Polymorph Red Dwarf episode.

Seth, as other have said, thank you for your entertainment and commitment to the show. You will be missed by myself at the very least. I hope some day your passion is re-ignited and you can return but regardless wish you nothing but happiness. My your job be wonderful and enjoy your marriage good sir.

As for the subject of Mechagenesis, like all pen and paper games this could absolutely be used to play a one shot single run in and have fun session. It could also be used to play an extended campaign like I did when I ran MechaMorphosis. For history, MM was created using the D20 system which was 3.5 Edition Dungeons and Dragons. That edition included an open gaming license that Wizards included with the rules as a way to encourage 3rd party developers to make content for D&D. Unfortunately (for Wizards, not for players), it was worded a little too loosely and allowed companies to take the "engine" of 3E and apply it to their own content. Green Ronin released MM under those rules. Years later they decided to break their product away from Wizards product completely and developed their own True 20 system and created MechaGenesis for it.

Anyway, origins aside, I ran MM for a while with my players and had a ton of fun with it. I set a game during the 4 million years of G1 when the Autobots were in stasis. I had the players are part of a small team simply trying to survive while Shockwave ruled the planet. Didn't last as long as I'd like but I had a bunch of fun.

I would always be willing to play the game again but now if I were to run a Transformers game I would do things differently. First off, I would use Fate Accelerated. That's a SUPER rules lite system that is completely awesome. You can get it for pay what you want (even free) from the companies site: Fate Accelerated Edition - Pay-What-You-Like [PDF] [EHP0002E] - $2.50 : Evil Hat Productions Online Store

I would set it in IDW, probably shortly after Windblade miniseries. And I would totally frame the game in a similar fashion to Roll Play Nebula Jazz.

Vangelus, if you want to try to try it out let me know and I'll see what I could do.

Ah cool - thank you for the info!

In regards to podcast arrangements moving forward:
I currently have a plan of action that makes me feel comfortable & the even-numbered episodes will proceed as per usual :D

I've been listening since episode 1 and I'm very glad to have had 10 years of your contributions Seth! TBH your off-topic banter with Vangelus has been some of my favorite stuff to listen to on this podcast for that last year or so. I hope you guys find some room for a podcast of just that kinda stuff, but you do right by yourself, I'll still be here if you decide to come back for something like that.

Thank you seth, for all the many years of content. I have been a listener since the very beginning, and there have been times i drifted off and came back but it was always nice to return back to the podcast, and it would be as if i never stopped listening. Wtf@tfw was why I got into going to conventions, mostly anime outside of botcon 2012, and was a formative part of when i left my teens to become and adult. I was in highschool when wtf@tfw started and I am now going to be 28 in december, its always been something I could turn on and relax. My taste in content, especially my love of podcast, comes from this very show.

If/when you and vangelus do a new podcast, i’ll say what i have said in many a podcast thread over the years, Can’t wait to listen!

Seth, I just want to say thanks for all you have contributed to the TF community throughout the years. I loved reading Them Funny Robots back in the day and the WTF@TFW is the only podcast I keep up with nowadays. I will miss your perspective (I really enjoyed it when you and Chris talked about Gobots/Machine Robo)!

While I don't post much and probably won't ever have a listener question, I just wanted to chime in say how much I greatly enjoy this podcast. It makes my commute to and from work a lot more enjoyable.

Thanks for all you do guys!

Ive been listening to the show since it started 10 years ago and everyones contributions have always kept me feeling connected to the fandom and to collecting in general. Some of my favorite moments have been with Seth on the show and a highlight from a show so far back that i dont even remember the number was when you guys did a bit about how the world is held up by turtles, and that if you fell off the edge it would just be turtles all the way down. Im pretty sure gogdog was still hosting at that point as well. Another of my favorite seth moments was getting to run into the podcast crew, including seth at one of the pasadena botcons a few years back. I ended up being awkward and just tagging along to the panel about the background of the primes and the main continuity i think? Its honestly pretty hazy since it was so far back. But i remember everyone in the group being incredibly nice and gracious. To echo guard convoy i started listening in high school as well and have kept up with it ever since. Botcon was one of my first cons i went to on my own and started to boost my confidence in talking to new folks. All of your con prep episodes have always given some great advice as well.

Seth, I just wanna thank you for your dry humor, your knowledge of macross and everything youve ever brought to the show. Im gonna miss hearing those sultry low tones every few weeks but life takes in funny directions and i wish you all the best. Heres hoping work calms down soon and you can make a swift return and regale us with all sorts of new stories and always remember to “lean back”

I hope it’s just you recording yourself 3x and splicing all the feeds into 1 inaudible track of madness

Having interacted with you via the twitter, I was hoping to one day meet at a con. Sadly Ohio and CA are a bit too far for that to be cost effective either way. I guess we’ll always have Paris...

Oh and can you post your Instagram here? Or was that a joke? Lol

Instagram is for real. It's Seth_Painting_Minis . I'm only using it to post pics of stuff I painted so Twitter will still be the best place to keep up with anything I might do in the future.

I'm saddened, but totally understand Seth’s reasons for stepping back – and to you, I say, you will be missed!Your banter and chemistry with Vangelus made every odd-numbered episode something to look forward to, even when you were covering topics I didn’t care about. You made us, the \"dear listeners\" feel like we were just sitting with friends, sharing thoughts on the fandom and beyond. By contrast, the even-numbered episodes are just not as good. I’m hopeful that Vangelus can lock in someone to co-carry the odd episodes, but this news puts WTF@TFW toward the bottom of my listening list for now.

Oh, I just remembered that Seth didn't like the Brett Blevins run of New Mutants. Sad, but I forgive you.

I think the most amusing course of action would be to continue the even numbered episodes and entirely skip the odd ones, including the numbers.

Seth, you were on the first episode I ever listened to and I've always been a fan. You and the rest of the podcast always make my day and I wish you nothing but the best in the future! Thank you the replies you often gave to my comments on the podcast board. I just followed your Instagram after hearing you talk about it on this episode. I hope we all hear from you again soon! Be well, brother!
P.S. If you're ever in NY, I'd love to have you (Vangelus, this applies to you too) on my radio show.
