While not a rat.. Cyndaquill is the "Fire mouse" pokemon.

 

Oh yeah, forgot about that. I tend to think of Cyndaquil as a hedgehog with the fire quills... That's actually perfect for me, since Cyndaquil is also my favorite fire starter.

In the Pokémon Direct yesterday, among the seven new Pokémon officially revealed, another new Pokémon has been shown. In the crowd scenes in the gym, you can find a Squirrel like Pokémon repeated within the crowd. At present we have no further details of this Pokémon but we have added everything we know into our New Pokémon section so click the image to go to that section



This goes hand in hand with squirrel shirt a kid is wearing in the crowd and the the rumors 2 weeks ago that got everything right in the trailer. If this is indeed Greedunt as was listed, you will encounter it in berry trees.

Corviknight. This is the Crow Pokémon I've been waiting for. Murkrow and Honchkrow are ok but are more closer to the mob. Especially Honchkrow.

It halves the damage taken from moves that make direct contact, but doubles that of Fire-type moves. Only Stufful and Bewear have it.

Could it perhaps be the Rattata/Zigzagoon/Bidoof of this Gen? That could possibly explain why it features so prominently in the first "Gym". It fits the "Rodent-like"-creature theme and it would make sense to have that be a squirrel in a UK-based region.
