Every White Ranger and Shadow Ranger I have seen have had some sort of paint issues. Usually the paint going over the lines on the figure :/ Maybe I'm just super picky. So far I only have Zedd but the first one I had picked up had silver paint on his brain part of his head
My Zedd had some inconsistent silver paint as well, especially on his spine and leg armor. Not a dealbreaker but hope it's addressed going forward.
Yeah, I think mine might have been a bit of an extra QC casualty, but it was enough to put me off buying the rest of the MMPR line up. It's almost 100% guaranteed we'll never see the line in stores here in the UK, and I don't fancy playing the paint-job roulette of buying online if it's a widespread issue. Hopefully they sort it soon though. You guys that are more hardcore PR fans have waited years for a line like this...it'd be a shame if paint applications are the small thing that ruins it!
I'm going to end up picking up probably all of Wave 1, just waiting until I find one with decent enough paint. When the Hasbro Overwatch figures came out people were praising how great they were articulation and paint wise. Again it could be me being picky but even with that line I'm still waiting to find a Lucio with a properly colored headset :/ I collect Marvel Legends as well and usually the paint on them are really good
They're show accurate, are all sculpt and paint and can perform almost anything they could on the show, that works for me. However, I will admit I was expecting more out of them with how hyped up the SOC line is. I can definitely say I will never bother investing in the SOC line unless they are from one of my top three Sentai shows (Zyu, Dai, and Kaku).
Agreed, the Hasbro 'dx' stuff looks pretty good from photos, the new beetles have just been shown and inspire confidence. Unlike the semi disastrous 'DX' japan versions (clips breaking, general instability and somewhat overengineered...still amazing looking though.....) hopefully these will prove durable and easy to transform. I hated the mailing (edit: mainline) BOA stuff, it just felt so compromised and hobbled by the barely adequate connectors. Hopefully Hasbro find a strong middle ground, at $30 a pop for the individual zords they should be competent.
I will be thrilled if Hasbro makes collector grade Magiranger combining mecha with full articulation. Also Muteki Shogun/Kaikure Daishogun.
Not true. You have a flip out CW connector in each shoulder. It could work. Just would require some artful hiding of the new connectors as a mastodon. The big one would be the Thunder Megazord. It's pretty much just armor on the Dragon. Difficult to do well + keep articulation. And you couldn't use universal CW joints (or whatever) because of how they have to fit
With the talk a while back about whether Hasbro acquired the other Saban live action shows, I was only just now reminded how Kenner had produced the toys for VR Troopers. Now I’m wondering if Hasbro retained any materials from that time.
I'm honestly surprised we haven't seen wave 2 of the Lightning Collection yet. Meanwhile, we're getting bombarded with waves in Marvel Legends.
I think we'll see some surprises at SDCC. Really love to see some fully articulated and combining collector zords from Hasbro. BoA had like 2 non-combining Legacy Collection zords with ranger pilots that could sit inside. I liked the idea of compatible pilot figures but not the non-combining aspect. Something like that, but combining with full articulation would be right up my alley.
Actually, there were 3 of those Zords. Tyrannosaurus, Sabertooth Tiger & Mastadon. I do wish they had done the other 2 to complete the team.
Just in case anyone has been looking, I randomly checked the other day and a few preorders freed up for these two at BBTS. There's still one and two preorders for each respectively. Super Mini-Pla Jet Icarus Super Mini-Pla Jet Garuda
Power Rangers stole me away from Transformers being my favorite property back in 1993. Until PR came out, everything was Transformers. Seriously though, I get what you are saying, but maybe Hasbro can make it a big thing again.
Not to the mass public, maybe, but Hasbro knows there are adult collectors and the Lightning Series is a perfect way to debut fantastic adult-oriented collectible Zords and Megazords. Heck, Haslab, even. Check out Rangerboard and Tokunation, there are some serious die-hard adult collectors who'd throw down big money for an SOC style Megazord system at Hasbro pricing that doesn't make your anus bleed.
