All this aside, that mjnhgf6y Optimus Prime looks damn excellent.

 

In my house Jet fire ( the last one, the thrilling 30 one ) and skyfire (the cartoon and this new toy) are two separate characters. This is the perfect Sunbow and Marvel Comics Skyfire but the Thrilling 30 one was the perfect Jet fire one. I just show my boy that OLD Jet Fire Commercial for Jet Fire and the cartoon / comic for Skyfire ! best of both world for us.

I am not going to lie... that battle damage on Springer is really hurting my excitement for him as that mold and all 3 of its modes are truly outstanding! Guess I am going to have to "brush" up on my painting skills (hyuk hyuk).

Jetfire is insanely awesome. I love what HasTak puts out most of the time, but this guy is leaps and bounds ahead of anything they have put out aside from MP, but even there I wonder. This figure says to me that someone cared about that character. It also says that HasTak can pull off amazing designs if they are given carte blanche on the figure budget. I for one welcome the new commander class and can't wait for what's next!

@Dorksidetoys Thank you for posting these fantastic pictures! The hype is real and it is deserved for these figures.

Side note, Refraktor is kind of boring, but so was the character design. He was so boring that he disappeared off the show after only a few episodes. Most Decepticons stayed around due to their relatively smaller cast. He is far from the worst figure TasTak has released. Solid articulation, true alt mode that is the camera is perfectly executed, even the accessories are nifty. The individual alt mode is an afterthought for those who refuse to pony up for 3 identical deluxes. HasTak know their target audience will fork out for the full trio to get that camera (hence the rumored set with extra accessories, which I hope includes a miniature camera for the rest of the line to use).

 

I'm pretty sure Jetfire and Springer will be my top favorites from Siege. I still want to see a picture of Siege Jetfire standing next to the Thrilling 30 Leader Jetfire and an original G1 Jetfire to get a sense of the new Commander class scale.

 

Jetfire is High Art! One of my favourite characters from my youth could literally not look any more perfect! THANK YOU HASBRO, THANK YOU! I keep saying this but I'm so happy to have gotten into Transformers again after a few years! Hasbro's making their best Tf toys yet!
Red Alert...hnnnn. You know, I might actually like him better than Sideswipe (and I've never really been a fan of RA either, lol). I'm so very happy they gave him the proper head too!
Springer...perfect, but just a touch of bittersweet though. With the exception of the Takara Arcee, I really wish we had equally perfect versions of his '2005' compatriots to go with him. I know the Legends Kup and Blurr are pretty close, but they're Mega Priced on Ebay, and I don't like their being Headmasters. Same for Hot Rod, and equally same for that Leader Rodimus. Would Hasbro tackle these again so soon? I'd prefer first to see more of Hasbro's WFC versions of Sunstreaker, Jazz, Wheeljack, Trailbreaker (oh please make him!!), and hopefully the rest of the other classic G1 Minibots.

It's funny how Hasbro is always changing Transformer names due to copyright loss, like Refraktor, Skrapnel, Octone.
Never understood why they don't just name Jetfire as Skyfire, especially with this re-design.

This made me realize that if Patrick Wilson voiced Jetfire I would have absolutely zero complaints, lol

 

he was always meant to be jetfire thats why, skyfire was a last minute change because of a legal headache with the toy he was based off of (his g1 figure being a macross valkyrie owned by takaras competitor in japan).
fun fact: he was going to be jetfire in the toon as well (like the toy and marvel comics) and the change happened so late that in his debut ep. they re recorded the audio of all the characters saying jetfire, to be saying skyfire, this can be found online. however i dont know why they would've had to change the name from jetfire to skyfire in the first place...

 

How do you make the camra mode? Do you just buy 3 refracktors?

yes they have connectors on the hips and the middle on plugs in facing opposite the other two

Thanks. As I suspected, Commander class is a little too big for my liking. I'm sure I'll still get it. But I do wish he was closer to Thrilling 30 Jetfire in size.

 

I wish the vehicle mode looked nicer from the side and bottom, at the high pricetag I think I'll have to pass unless I see it on a great sale/clearance price. This looks like it will satisfy Skyfire fans, but for me, I'm a little more Jetfire-oriented, and luckily I have that last release to keep me happy.
