In 2015, the CHUG line, starting with CW, shifted to a mostly black packaging with the Tf logo in red along the side. With the style of art has changed here and there, these colors have not. For most of the pre-CW packaging(2006-2014) , we had various red dominated packaging. Would you like to see a new color "pattern" or are you content with the black centric packaging? Me personally, I d like them to try a white -centric packaging scheme similar to the Cybertron line.
I would say yes if I still bought figures at brick and mortar stores because it always helped to spot a newer wave easier. Since I get everything on-line now, no need.
This is me. The packaging is irrelevant as it all gets tossed. Having art of the specific character on the package is enough for me to know if we got a new wave or not so this all works for me.
You assume they'll do something for Beast Wars this time around. Not to read as a pessimist, but I feel as though Hasbro's gonna be sticking to G1 for a while, unfortunately. It's what they know will sell in the meantime while they figure out how to get their bearings on movie screens and on TV.
It will be interesting to see what is revealed at SDCC 2019 for WFC: Part 2 and the direction of the line. There are other threads for that kind of discussion however.
You know, I never thought about it until now, but I do sort of wish they'd be a little more fun. I feel like Hasbro goes for darker colors with Generations to give it a more Star Wars Black Series "premium line" feel as opposed to the bright and colorful kid's boxes, but something about the Siege box design is a little dour to me. Even back in G2, when the boxes were primarily black, the fonts and logos were brightly colored and the character art was more front-and-center. I'm not saying they all need to look as busy and colorful as the Car Robots boxes, but something a little more...fun and eye-catching might be cool.
Personally the packaging gets tossed anyway, but sometimes packaging does draw people in stores. I loved Cybertron’s white packaging, for example.
