I said a couple of threads ago that this might be harder to get because VV is not as popular as the lions so they may not make as many as the lions so the supply might not meet the demand more so than the lions.
We won't know for sure until a while after it's been released. If it has stellar qc and joints that don't feel like they'll give out quickly, maybe it'll be harder to track down later. Too early to say right now.
For things like SoC, MP, 3P, just one copy is costly enough. I'm always amazed at the amount of b!tching some collectors do when it comes to resellers. Action figures or otherwise. But the real beef should be with the manufacturers, (and for toys) their lousy distribution, failure to meet demand (usually due to poor marketing research, if any at all), and failure to properly limit online sales to 1 per person (Dear HasbroPulse: go f*ck yourself). I don't give a rat's ass about somebody buying duplicate/triplicate Marvel Legends in a store in NYC, LA, or some other place where I don't live. I'm not hopping a plane for a Walmart exclusive "worthy Cap". This is Facebook nerd-raging, something that didn't happen in the 80s, 90s, or 00s. I don't even remember hearing it in the first half of this decade. I truly hate to see "scalper this, scalper that" foaming-at-the-mouth insanity on TFW2005. That's one of the things that makes Facebook groups unsavory. Action figures are far from the only thing where you must put forth extra effort to acquire one, or acquire one at the desired price. Even in the 80s, certain figures were harder to find, and not everything was on the shelf at Toys R Us or K-mart, contrary to fuzzy rose-tinted memories. I remember NOT finding certain things, ever, and that's after searching multiple stores. It wasn't until the 90s that I found some of those figures, and at a higher cost (though insanely cheap compared to 2019 pricing).
I sometimes wonder if I'm well in the head for spending $300 MSRP on a figure like SoC Voltron. But then I hear about "one to open, open to keep MIB/MOC", and I think "no, they're insane (or obscenely wealthy ... or both)". I recently had a family member ask how much my MP/3P collection cost, and my answer was "I really don't want to think about it".
And Pre-ordered. That makes 2 of the GX-88 and 1 VF-1S this week. I do need an Albegas, which is the best version?
Thanks for the link! Easy preorder. Now hopefully Amazon does not get short supplied in stock and everything will be good.
Amazon does not take PayPal, so I am still in the game. Grrrrrr. Please post those other sightings. I'm going to be trolling the sites all day today...
Yeah, I saw that right away. I'm very uncertain about the ankle connection, as well as the connection at the top of the legs, where they meet the torso. CAN'T WAIT till we see some reviews... Though it seems like those ankles are going to give excellent ankle-rocking action.
I don't have any experience with the modern versions of Albegas...but I can tell you that the vintage one is fun but crumblycrumbly due to age of the plastics...
I have one of these sets: Pre Order Evolution Toy GRAND ACTION BIGSIZE MODEL ALBEGAS 30cm Action Figure | eBay and they ain't a bad place holder at all. They're a little more "parts-former" than even the Matchbox set, but they look cool and pose pretty well. There are reviews on Youtube to see if you are interested. They are probably not worth the almost $300 I paid, but they might be worth around $200 to some collectors... I know I like my set.
