My prediction: Issues 12-24 will show alliances form between the smaller factions for political gain, causing friction within each group. Each smaller faction will dissolve as more bots will assimilate under two parties (autobot and asenticon) After 24 issues (two hardcovers), we'll reach the traditional autobot/decepticon war, and #25 will be treated as a relaunch (the point where cities start getting invaded.)
I don't think we'll actually see it. I feel like this 12 issue run will end with a skirmish of some sort that will later haven proven to be the thing that sparked the war. But I have this feeling in my gut that whatever follows issue 12 will feature a time-skip and we'll already been hundreds if not thousands of years into the war proper.
They find another dead Cybe, but because his body is grey they get into an argument over what color the body was before. Red! Blue! Red! Blue!
Choosing sides will probably come in a sequel series. I think it’s important to have a proper build up first before we get our traditional metal-on-metal action.
Hope it doesn’t happen. I’m not interested in seeing that storyline again. I want political intrigue and world building. Small scale violence and riots, etc. I don’t need the same g1 autobots vs decepticon story.

that is very optimistic outlook there. i have a feeling this book will be canceled. also the odds are also looking more than likely it that IDW will be canceled well before this book.
The what? Oh, the WAR. This continuity won’t have an actual physical conflict, more like a war of words in the senate building. I predict that around issue #50, Sentinel Prime will announce his resignation, the first time in history that this has happened! Mass shock. Who will be the new Prime? Meanwhile, Megatron has proposed an amendment to the Nominus Edict. He puts an Ascenticon committee together and they review it, but soon things take a dark turn because Megatron doesn’t just want to amend the Edict. He wants to ABOLISH it! But, he knows the Ascenticon Party is in the minority in the senate, so he needs to gain the support of other parties if he wants it to pass. Optimus is saddened by his friend’s dark turn. He knows he and the other Autobots must stop this. Even though it breaks his heart to vote against Megatron, he must do it. The Nominus Edict must remain at all costs. Optimus has a lot on his mind with the senate and Sentinel’s impending retirement. Who will be the new Prime? Will Megatron be able to get zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
I'd rather be optimistic than pessimistic . At least by starting so early in the timeline, IDW would still have opportunities for decent relaunches if they needed to change the general direction of the series. Off the top of my head I could think of a few: guerrilla warfare by a newly created Decepticon faction escalation into planet-wide warfare bringing the conflict off-world onto the colonies Something from the perspective of a neutral party forced to interact between both sides for survival earth but I really don't want that for a loooooooong time
oh, so you basically everything from the old continuity...got ya but seriously i just want some interesting well written stories. it doesn't even have to be conflict or a murder mystery. honestly they could just be out in space exploring the galaxies and expanding the empire. i am sure with something as simple as that the stories write themselves.
You do know that this series is set in present and notnin the past and events are unfolding in real time
