Sandstorm looks nothing like Springer though.

 

I'd be in for that.

Wait, when was these made? Does Movieverse Drift have connections with this?!? I know I just bought the original Drift figure, but I'd jump at this repaint.

 

I wanted to make a witty remark about how Hasbro always mis transforms their OWN FIGURES 99.99% of THE TIME. A picture really says a thousand words.

That Springer looks extraordinary.

I don’t always love everything has/tak puts out, but they really have some incredible designers and, with toys like this Springer, often prove themselves to be the masters of art of designing transforming toys.

 

I bet this will make @Vangelus VERY happy.

 

Yeah, we're pretty much guaranteed NOT to see a Sandstorm from this mold... 


I was ready to pass on this completely but after watching the video, I would LOVE a Sandstorm from this. T30 Springer is still "my" Springer but that way I would definitely be purchasing this mold in some form.

 

I don't care for Drift, but even I'd buy that. White means he'd be super easy to repaint.  

 

I think they could do a Sandstorm if they retooled the car mode so that it's back-to-front of Springer's. It looks like you can keep the tail bits inside in carmode, and if the molded a window on the back of that canopy, you could fold it back over the helicopter cockpit. Heck, even the shoulderpods can be angled down in bot mode to make them more like Sandstorm.

True, but tell that to the T30 version as well as HasTak's obsession with cutting corners.

 

That springer is wayyyyy more complex than it looks, I’m digging it.

 

Siege's design theme has been relative G1 accuracy. Sandstorm from Springer would not be that.

 

T30 was based on IDW Springer, not Sunbow Springer that Siege is going for. It was fine for Sandstorm to be redesigned for IDW so that his toy could be remolded from Springer, but a Siege Sandstorm would have to look like he did in the cartoon.

Slamdance may look nothing like his original toy, but he wasn’t in the cartoon and repaints need to exist. I do acknowledge that Hasbro cuts corners but they’re not going to claim a repaint of Springer with remolded parts looks like cartoon Sandstorm. They’ll go for new characters or those not in the cartoon. Movie Springer was repainted into a new character called Duststorm. So maybe they could do so again with Siege Springer.

 

Without making commentary on the transforming skills of the human test model, these videos all make me excited.

 

Fair enough, fingers crossed that they make a retool of Spinister out of this mold then since that's actually who I'm more interested in anyway.

 

I wish copter-springer did a better job hiding its car parts.

 

I'd be all in for a Guidi's Drift/Deadlock figure, especially since the cyberverse show is already using his design for Deadlock.

 

..I want that but i want it in Drift's AOE colors
