At these prices you might need 2 of those. One as the main and the other for spare parts/DIY repairs.

 

With Prime going for around $300+, this isn't a surprise, though it is unfortunate. I'll also probably be paying that, even though I'm pretty happy with the FansToys version.

 

As others have said, only TFSource has put their PO up, presumably acting early on the same information @TTemploy receives...or else they saw his post and trust him as much as we all do!  

 

I'll just lay back in the cut and wait for AJ, AE and HLJ to restore order on the pricing like they ALWAYS do.

It's funny- this same thing happens for all MP releases. It's the Seven stages of grief: The shock, denial, anger, bargaining, depression, testing and then finally, the acceptance. It seems we've reached the bargaining/depression phases.

 

Except they never get to acceptance. They come back to vent whenever the thread appears on front page. Then they vent some more in future releases. You tried to tell those guys to focus on something else positive and they somehow accuse you for oppresing their feelings.

 

To be fair, people being ‘priced out’ is a new kind of ‘grief’, different from complaints of hollow parts, butt-flaps, backpacks etc.

Also no offence but I actually find the complaints about people complaining almost as tiring as the original complaints themselves.
Plus it’s just adding fuel to their fire - why bother?

It is a very hard thing to do, but yes, I have learned that the more we reply to them, the more they keep going at it. This is key, and it is unfortunate because some of the complaints are from people that have no idea of places like AJP, so it has become hard to actually help those collectors.

A sad state of affairs, TBH.

 

I’m guessing there’s gonna be a lot involved to get his shapes right. It’d be good to see the altmode to get an idea.

Sure, we've all got a ways to go, but it seems rare for you to give in to histrionics and hyperbole, so I think that says a lot about how you conduct yourself around here. And the "why bother" bit at least suggests you recognize the futility and pointlessness of pushing back against those who push first on an internet messageboard.

 

Yeah no offence to you dude because I know you love these MPs but I think in the past your comments have been the most outrageous, ya firebrand!

Also I don’t want to ostracise a group as ‘them’. If we come into this thread we all are or were MP fans, for the most part. I feel for the folks who have been priced out, or who don’t like the narrowing focus on toon accuracy, or don’t want the improved articulation, and don’t care for loads of accessories, nor the costs those three things incur.
We’re also beyond a point where we can ‘justify’ these prices by parts count or whatever. Clearly TT can or need to charge more, and so they are. Those of us who love what the line is about are willing to pay the price.

It’s sad to see myself and my MP buddies labelled as circle jerkers in MP threads and indeed other parts of the forum. Because we still get excited about these toys? We’re on a message boards for toys, if we’re not allowed to geek out here then where are we supposed to do it?
I’ve made some solid buddies through the MP parts of these boards (and lost one, RIP TC). I know a fair few of us are at a point where we only collect these toys.

I agree there’s been some weird/ugly comments about elitism and how people seem to enjoy these figures more when they’re priced higher (and out-pricing others). I honestly don’t understand that mentality, but people get off in different ways.

But at what point does it become offensive to ‘us’ that we’re willing to buy these MPs. Can’t we do what we like with our hard-earned money, without judgement from fellow collectors?

If people come and air their grievances in a respectful way (@Booster Gold comes to mind as an example), and there’s no inflammatory comments from the people still on-board, then can’t we all just come together in a group hug?

So nobody’s going to mention the potential 4100 yen shipping from AJ? Even if the price goes down to $120 it might still get jacked back up to the $160 tag that TFSource and his buddies are going to charge. I’m just waiting in suspense tbh.

 

I think that is only applicable for bigger figs if that is indeed what is going on. I still hope it's only a glitch though.
