Yeah, I got the 1J through Amazon Japan for the preorder price and that delicious $12 DHL shipping I hate that they didn't even allow shipping to the US for the 1S I'd be in bed already moth**@@ck#$s
Well after being carjacked all night, I paid the inflated price for it at NY. At least I got the GX-88 at the cheaper rate.
For those of us in Europe the Nippon Yasan price isn't actually that bad, since we'd end up paying the same total via HLJ or AmiAmi with import taxes on top (NY under-declares so we can avoid taxes).
Ya know...come to think of it...if I wanted the TV series...I'd have to get Roy and Kakizaki. Dammit...

It took me over an hour to get back into NY and the marked up version sold out right when I was at checkout. I never could find/afford the Yamato or Arcadia version of the VF-1S, and if I don’t want to pay $300 for a deluxe (the Hi Metal R), it’s that overly panel lined KitzConcept thing (which gives money to Harmony Gold and doesn’t look nice to me) or a fragile KO that is also seriously overpriced. Not even seriously considering the Toynami, because my brother has the Milia “Masterpiece” and the backpack just randomly fell off it last week when he took it out of the cabinet. I think a lot of the “pure trash” stuff on here is hyperbolic bullshit, but the Toynamis really are very badly made. Yeah, I was looking to get into something other than TFs, because I’m sick of the inflating prices there too, and I love the Macross anime. Guess I’ll have to be satisfied with one of the non-hero Hi Metal R valks like the VF-1D or the VT-1, which is a fair bit smaller than what I wanted for a centerpiece. I can’t really afford anything more expensive right now and anything cheaper is liable to be junk. How do you people not go insane from this? I was just sighing and shaking my head constantly for two hours, lol. Maybe if I can sell some TFs I can at least get a chunky monkey.
I almost went insane but lucked out. I missed every website in the initial rush. Got cartjacked at HLJ later. Lucky I had tried to get to NY for an unrelated thing so I was way ahead in the ticket line. I saw the Valk go up, and speed runned checkout. Except right as I clicked pay later, the site crashed. I reloaded and had to wait again in ticket line. I had no confirmation email so I thought I was screwed. 25 minutes later I get in and it says “your order was created but was interrupted during payment. Click okay to finish or cancel to cancel this order” I clicked ok and I got my order and email. I was very lucky! Edit: does anyone know if NY can edit your preorder? I might spring for more expensive shipping just to be safe
Even on markup? Or just wanted to skip it at that price? Don’t forget Plaza Japan hasn’t gone up yet either.
That’s good. I just wanted to make sure it had full tracking insurance just in case, but I didn’t know if they could edit the shipping method
Created an account and everything for Amazon Japan just to find out they weren’t shipping to the US. Had it in the cart and ready to check out. Was anyone else blindsided as well? I thought people were able to get the last release shipped to the US?
I think it's safe to say that we were all blindsided... Amazon JP is weird about shipping restrictions. I was able to preorder MP Sunstreaker a few years ago, but not the revised MP Sideswipe. Then one day, the Sideswipe became available and I was able to put in an order. No rhyme or reason.
Still up on NY, but at a higher price point (which is to be expected from NY), 27000 yen as of now. You are being redirected...
