Finally found this figure. Sculpt and colors off the bat are excellent. Good amount of intricate detail and I love it when Haskaromy uses gunmetal grey for Prime(since DA28 Striker Optimus). Also dig how the window pieces are molded separately from the windshield instead of just being painted. You can tell this was a labor of love for whomever designed it.

Only things I don't like are the lower legs tending to pry apart easily when posing, backpack seen from the front and the grill bending out of alignment a little easily in truck mode(angles inwards). Could've used more knee range. Oh also, it would've been cool if the folding shoulder panels above the shoulder pad were spring loaded so that they could retract against the shoulder pads when the shoulders are neutral. Otherwise, great figure and largely solid for a Studio Series figure.

any chance someone has the box from the walmart reissue of g1 prime and can see if SS-38 would fit in the plastic tray in alt mode? think that'd be a cool way to display it.

This guy finally arrived and he's just as good as everyone made him out to be! Wow I'm really impressed. Feels very sturdy and has some good heft. Have only transformed him once, but he feels very involved with everything having a place to go. Only gripes is not a fan of the way the headache rack forms, but that's only a small small gripe. Excited to just mess with him a bunch.

Also very excited if the rumoured Evasion Mode retool actually happens. I'd even just take a rusty deco of this mold.

What an incredible figure. Amazon had one almost $5 off because the box was a tiny bit damaged, but figure inside was completely fine. Robot mode and alt mode both look fantastic, such a great blend of G1 and movie aesthetic. Transformation is really fun, build quality is great, everything goes together nicely. Only problem with it is the hollow space between the legs in truck mode, but Peaugh's video showed a great way to put the rifle there, so really there's not much else I could ask for!

Just picked him up. If you're a G1 fan go ahead and pick this up. Looks even better in person. Super Complex in a 2007 way like the budget for this figure was almost unlimited.

The way the head folds back and the arms fold in is very reminiscent of the original diaclone version.

I stood him next to Siege Prime...he looks super buff and imposing next to him. Almost like what Sige Prime might look like after 50 years of war.

SS038 is quickly becoming a candidate for most overrated figure of the decade. I wonder how long it will take for the honeymoon phase to end.

Maybe to you. To me after having him for a couple months I STILL really like him. So don't call my genuine enjoyment and love of a great figure a "honeymoon phase" please.

He’s a pretty good version of a really good iteration of Prime.

That said, if the Anniversary Earth aversion of Siege Optimus is good, I suspect that might overshadow this one. I personally like SS 38 more than the Siege mold, and suspect even an Earth mode won’t change my opinion.

Can anyone reccomend which paint to buy for him?.

Also, how do i tight some of the joints in the hips?

I do agree he's kind of "overrated" to say, in a proper definition, he still suffers some engeenering issues (seriously the tolerances are quite fucked due the hinges, and the legs are too fragile), but he's definitely not even mediocre, he's probably my favorite OP right now.

I thought Evasion Mode Prime was gonna be my favorite movieverse voyager, then I finally got this guy from Amazon and WOW. I got a very good copy too. Everything is just tight, he pegs together snuggly in alt mode. I can't stop fiddling with him

I think he is a great first try. It is a great figure but there is issues. He is an amazing realistic G1 Optimus Prime. Robot mode looks amazing. Transformation is a mix of traditional G1 prime with some new stuff thrown in. I like the plastic and paint color choices. Looks great next to VW Bee.
But the legs are bad, they don’t really hold together and it leaves a skimpy looking backside to the truck. I think a V2 if a sequel to Bee happens will improve on this already great toy.

I still love this figure, but recently I tried getting it back into truck mode without having done so in three weeks. It look me twenty hair-pulling minutes. I remain convinced that the simple addition of a peg on either arm and a corresponding peghole on either side of the torso to fix the arms into the correct alignment going into truck mode (like Siege Prime has) would go a LONG way to making the transformation into truck mode less of a bear.

Does anyone have any tricks in getting tus lined up correctly? Some time I get both panels overt the arms in no problem. Other times it is a struggle. And I can't really tell what I do different between transformations.

G1 enough to put it with CHUGs and different enough from WFC:S Prime to get both. Almost reaches perfection as a modern update CHUG Voy Prime. Almost, because there's no official storage for the gun in the alt mode and the truck isn't Freightliner.

Love the back of the truck mode, it looks close to an actual truck frame so it's one of the best looking CHUG Optimi in this department. Here's hoping no updates ever will make the truck bed look any more solid and thus needlessly "toyetic" given the rest of the alt mode. It'd be absolutely pointless.

Eagerly awaiting an MPM of this design (it will very likely kill any desire I've got for MP-44).

Didn't have any difficulties transforming it, but then... I don't consider MP-36 or TE-01 transformations unpleasant. YMMV.

Anyone tried this in a CHuG collection yet? (If so I would love to see pics). I’ve been thinking about replacing my CW Megs and Potp Prime with the new voyagers for better scaling purposes on my CHUG shelf, but I’m honestly thinking about going with this SS Prime as opposed to the Seige one...any thoughts? Would that just look to weird?

Sitting here, fiddling with it, transforming it forth and back, posing, rolling across the desk in the alt mode and listening to The Touch...

I think I'll keep the Classics OP only as a part of the franchise legacy. Used to have more realistic alt mode than the Siege one... But now SS 38 declassed the Classics mold in this regard too.

added new smokestacks. the ones from the energon igniter pop off easily, are freightliner accurate, and only need a thickened peg or, in my case, super glue, to fit in the hole where the og smokestacks were.

if you use superglue tho, be sure to glue them in truck mode. i glued mine on in robot mode and then realized they're slightly crooked in truck mode. oh well.

Amazingly found one in the wild. A very nice figure much more in line with what I wanted a live action OP to be with a satisfyingly challenging transformation and great articulation. Absolutely adore those big, bright blue eyes. All that said, the leg engineering is terribly weak sauce. Very, very satisfying, particularly in terms of being a live action version of OP, but not even nearly perfect from a purely objective POV.

Cool mod! How is it getting everything into truck mode with them? I find the pegs on the original stacks that plug into the headache guard helpful in getting things locked in place in truck mode. Does everything still lock in alright without them?
