He\'s a smirker! But I do like him overall. Sadly gonna end up repainting him to clean off that \"battle damage\"
Welcome to the world of everyone outside of the US. And some folks IN the US as well. 90% of my Transformer purchases are online, because nobody stocks anything. "Exclusives" mean nothing when you gotta get everything off Amazon.
I see your sanity has been bleeding out It’s okay, I’m sure most of us on the forum will continue to complain but keep buying into repaint sand retools all the while complaining about pricing!
Sina Visitor System Hasbro China has the same stock pictures. It will be on sale at their official flagship Tmall shop 3/6 onwards. What's interesting is that they say you can add Redwing to your Rainmakers collection...
Eh, not interested in this. Never seen timelines or whathaveyou that this guy appeared in, and the colors are not good for a seeker. Predominantly red with white and black are totally Autobot colors. This guy looks like SG Starscream. Also I am a bit stumped why they would give TC and Red Wing the smirking face mold, but not Starscream??? If they make Acid or Sun Storm, or the light purple guy (Lavender Wing? ) count me in.
He was created as a generic background character with made up colours. He didn’t do anything of any worth. He even went nameless in the comic itself. But being a new red nameless seeker made him stand out, provoking a reaction to just learn his name at least. Not even the writer bothered to give him a name initially. I guess Hasbro wanted to give us a new seeker who never had a toy before for this release. If you want to repurpose Red Wing as SG Starscream, then go ahead. And the smirk head probably only came about after the regular Starscream head was done.
According to the Wiki, Redwing has this "devil may care" kind of attitude. So smirking fits his character. Thundercracker, that one I'll give you. Him smirking doesn't make sense in my head. Apparently his name was originally Hotlink, and the guy who ended up as Hotlink was going to be Nacelle. There was this whole thing where E-Hobby were going to do Sunstorm, and Botcon's three pack would have been the red, aquamarine and purple jets - but then Takara-Tomy told E-Hobby no to their Sunstorm, which led to Botcon adding him to their set and kicking out the red guy - who still appeared in the comic as a colouring error. Or something like that. It's one of those things where a bunch of random events came together to create a truly random background guy who then got a following. A bit like the Seeker welcoming committee who got their toys at Botcon 2013, in fact.
He looks pretty sharp, but it’s hard for me to care for a Seeker whose name doesn’t end in ‘Cracker or ‘Warp
I feel same when they take other figures and repaint figures give them new names countless repainted Figures. We get of prime and classic seeker toys it’s all I see repaint prime toy into evil is all I see prime all black take star scream toy repaint him into substorm, thundercracker all I see star scream with new name new colors what good is repaint on. Figure. If everything is same put something new on them new face, new weapon, new head
This is it. I actually quite like this and might consider it. But the nature of the seeker mold and its place in the lore is that they can essentially shit this thing out in various colors at a price premium ad infinitum. And they will.
Uh... he’s not a Rainmaker. Or one of the Welcoming Committee. He and Nacelle can hang out together. Maybe we can finally get Sandstorm (the seeker not the triple changer) to join them and make another trio.
Yes, because Starscream owns the exclusive rights to that facial expression. No other Transformer with a mouth is allowed to smirk. You will never ever see any other Transformer do that with their mouth.
I really like the new Seeker mold and enjoy my Starscream immensely. Planning on getting Thundercracker and Skywarp without hesitation. This guy just doesn't seem like an essential purchase whatsoever, but I'll still get it because I like the mold and usually buy all Decepticon releases. Actually, I think I'll just call him Redshirt since he'll be the Seeker that's down when I take battle scene pics.
All I know is if they make a Rainmakers set (Acid Storm, Nova Storm and Ion Storm) then I'm going to lose my shizzle.
This is legitimately the first time I'd ever even heard of Nova Storm or Ion Storm. I only knew of about 12-named Seekers, but apparently, I need to get caught back up....
For some reason I thought that the 35th Anniversary line was part of Selects. I guess it really is its own thing, which means that the remaining slots are currently unknown. We'll probably see more figures from both lines when it gets closer to SDCC. (I'd buy toy colors Reflector and Lancer if they're part of this line.) MANGLE! I,too,am joining the Armada Starscream bandwagon and repurposing Red Wing as him when I buy this guy.
