So i recently was reminded of some old anime mecha shows i used to watch as a really young kid due to the new Voltes-5 figure that was just announced for preorder. It took me a while of trying different terms to search for but i found a link to the full film called Micro Commander Diatron-5. Otherwise known as Space Transformers in the UK. I watched the US dub as a child and was enamored with its robot designs. Going back and watching it now shows that it aged terribly and is almost so bad its funny. But the main reason i was curious about was of course for toys of the robot designs. Digging around i found these two images of the animes main two robots,

    And Diatron-5

I was wondering if anyone had any idea where to even find these as the anime itself was originally released in South Korea. I would love to get my hands on either one honestly because this is such a nostalgia hit for me. Like i think i watched this when i was about 5-6 years old?

PS if anyone wants to look up the hilarity of the terrible dub this got its a quick search on youtube of Micro commander Diatron-5

No idea about the show, but those toys are from Takara’s Diaclone line.

Specifically that’s Big Powered and Batte Buffalo.

Check out the diaclone reboot thread as both of these robots have been redone in that line and they are quite incredible releases.

Admittedly only skimmed but there was a Votom and the large Waruder mech used as well, so yeah copyrights be damned. :lol

I just looked them up and holy crap they look so cool!! I may have to save up for the Battle Buffalo cause that thing is tight. Any idea what the original versions of them run for or where i would even find them?

Yea from what i understand this film aped a ton of designs not just for the robots but the characters as well. Its definitely an oddity haha.

For that I think you might get a better answer here: Takara-Tomy Diaclone Reboot

Maz and puma alone probably could steer you in the right direction.

The new ones are available on most online retailers. I tend to order off of Amazon Japan since it now ships to the US and is often lower priced (especially for preorders).

Completely unsure on the old ones though, they're gonna be much rarer. Ebay is always an option, same with Yahoo Japan Auctions. You may have some luck with Mandarake. I'm sure others can help steer you in the right direction for other shopping options than what I've listed. Also, I'd expect the original releases to be very expensive at this point, so be careful. Best of luck with the search.
