That smirking face is the worst piece of shit sculpting job I've seen Hasbro do in a while. It looks like TC had a stroke and can't move half of his face instead of an actual movement. What the actual hell happened there? They're usually much better with this sort of thing.

I think they need to change heads.
At Thundertracker usually cold response to his face plate. At Starscream arrogant smirk on his face plate.

    This is CANON!

85% of these SIEGE Commander, Leader, Voyager and Deluxe class are figures most of us already have from previous CHUG lines. So for me it's been a case of; "Is this or that figure worth replacing the one I already have on my shelf?"

And so far a good majority of these Siege figures have won me over.

I meant in-hand pictures of Skywarp. I should have specified that, my mistake

I'm a fan of Nick Roche and that Springer has decent alt modes, but I never picked one up due those after-thought feet and lack of ankle tilt. This new one has much better proportions and looks like he stepped out the movie. I'm super excited for this new Springer.

I think due to having a very nice iteration people are not giving this one its cred. 3rd parties are tripping balls trying to make this movie accurate version and for at least 4 times the price. This Hasbro version looks to be made with care.

For me, I will **ALWAYS** replace an IDW design for a slavish G1 design where applicable. My T30 Springer was always just a place holder until I could get a satisfactory G1 version, which Siege is doing.

    I take your points.

Part of the issue is that the alt modes don't do enough for my money to differentiate from eachother with WFCS Springer. It's armoured car, and armoued car front half with tail boom. The expanding canopy transformation of the T30 figure, while at times a pain in the ass to get to line up, was innovative.

I like the Generations Springer toy, the only issue I had with it is I felt it looked more like a ‘Nick Roche Robot’ than Springer himself. It’s a great toy, but I never felt it was the greatest ‘Springer’ if that makes sense?

The way I tell how good a mold is (strictly from being recognisable, not from a playability/functional standpoint), is if it were just an unpainted prototype model would you know who it is right away. ‘Siege’ Springer is instantly recognisable even in grayscale, whereas ‘Generations’ Springer, as good as he is, could be one of numerous bots if you saw him in black & white (heck he has a ‘Cloud’ repaint as Nick Roche Hot Rod that works just as well!)

I’m not dumping on the Generations toy, but I think if we had had a full line of specific comic accurate figures rather than 2-3 here and there it would have been easier, rather than him sticking out so much. I understand why quite a few still like the older toy, but this new figure ‘feels’ more like Springer to me.

I think a lot of this for fans will come down to if you like your new Transformers toys to be like the earlier Generations lines, where there was more reimagining going on, or like quite a few of the more recent lines which are as some would say, ‘G1+Articulation’?

The Siege Springer also converts the front wheels farther back. Also adds wings....just like G1.

I like Thundercracker's shade of blue more in these photos. Stands out from the grey a bit more.

Headswap happening, but probably giving the smirk to Skywarp not Starscream!

Springer is not for me, but I'm happy for people who've been waiting for a nice G1 one. IDW made me like the character so I'm very pleased with the T30 one.

Gotta agree with you. I love the design, especially car mode with those knobby tires, etc. However, it always felt like an alternate universe version that didn't quite fit in my mind with how Springer should look. I'm loving the return to a G1 aesthetic that Siege is mostly going for. This doesn't mean there isn't room for Nick Roche versions (as you put it) of long standing and well trodden G1 characters, but for my money I tend to prefer designs that don't get too crazy.

Generations Springer was pretty amazing. Overall, he looked great and he came at a time when it felt like they were really cutting back, yet Springer came out and was large, complex, and had a great color scheme.

That being that, I don't really see these two figures competing. I know they're both Springer, but they're two very different styles. Just saying, as a fan of Springer, I'm happy to have both representations in my collection.
