I was gonna post that request too but I want to be sure the Green Prime got his due first before jumping to my boy UM colors.

Yup, MM did such a magnificent job with that armor up UM digi it would be hard for me to accept any other colors of him, lol. A white Prime/Magnus cab robot head with an interchangeable armored UM head would be a real treat for those that want to display him whether as the white Magnus or as armored up mode like your truly. Other accessory, can't forget his trademark shoulder missile launcher to be included, lol.

 

I'd like to see a more of an Urban Tactical Stealthy flat Black/Dark Gray Camo version would be welcomed. With the mouthplate he looks like a SWAT Team Bot anyway. (and I don't mean just be lame and make a Nemesis version) I mean make it more like a Mecha Snake-Eyes or Firefly

 

Wow! I would get this for sure. It looks amazing. It's also pays homage to his Animated Alt mode which I also loved.

 

Probably gonna get this soon, I've been seeing talks of those KO Diaclone soldier and mechs, mechs can I snag a few of those?

I decided to get the Camo version and ordered it from TFS-Express over the weekend. I paid extra for the 3 day shipping so it was $168 shipped, but via regular shipping it would be $154. I thought their price wasn't too bad.

Looking forward to checking it out this week!

 

Ugh, I can't resist. Does anyone have any comparison pics between the camo and an actual GI Joe Rolling Thunder? I'm debating getting the Reprolabels for the original and seeing how they would line up.

No problem. I've ordered from them a few times so far this year and have been very happy with the service. Some of their items come out cheaper than US-based retailers even with the 3 day shipping option, such as this camo Optimus. In fact, mine is out for delivery today, exactly 3 days after I placed the order.

 

Just to double check as well, he comes with tampos, right? Not a sticker sheet?

Might use some spare scraps of Reprolabels on him.

 

Several days after my friend got the camo version, my copy finally arrived. What a heavy beast.

The backpack was more limiting than I realize, it hinders the shoulder articulation. Wish there is a way to maneuver the missiles so that they swing down and under the armpits.

 

I received the Camo ST Commander today. Unfortunately I discovered a QC issue. Contacted the seller and they said they will contact TFC for replacement part. Hopefully it can get taken care of. The issue doesn't seem to affect transforming or posing of the toy, but is kind of bothersome just knowing that it exists. It's one of the missile hinges being assembled wrong, where the pin appears to have been punched through without the parts being lined up. This picture should show it:


Other than this issue, I'm very impressed with this figure. Very hefty and the deco looks really good. Tons of ratchets (it really needs them, being so heavy) that has good spacing for posing purposes. I think this could end up being one of my favorites of 2019, especially if I can get the hinge issue resolved.

This is my first TFC figure. I haven't really seen anything from TFC that has interested me before, but if they offer more figures of this quality, I'll be interested.

Was hoping there would be more comparison shots once this version dropped! Looks massive, kind of want to find the right shade of gray for the unpainted die cast though.

How is the shoulder articulation with the backpack on? Limited to just up and down?

I can see/feel why this is referred to as the best TFC figure to date. Comparing it to my other TFC figures from years ago (Hercules, Uranos) and more recent (Minos), this definitely falls into a class of its own.

Got the camo version yesterday and it's a beast. So much better looking than the drab G1 Optimus colours, this looks better and more real. No idea where to place this in my collection (or even how to list it in my spreadsheet -- Masterpiece?!?!).Was a bit worried about the camo scraping off, but no issues so far. The difference in colour shading (darker green camo on the front of the truck, normal green on the back), put me off a bit at first, but a) it's realistic and b) in looks good in robotmode.

Small nitpicks, I think the feet and heel hinges for the super mode are a bit looser than I'd like, but it's not really an issue. And personal issue, I dislike the hands because I dislike ball joint based fingers.


Absolutely great figure. Great and imposing looking and I definitely went for the right deco. I thought I only wanted one version (this), but if they release a Magnus deco...it will be a very big temptation (that I will ultimately resist, but not without effort).
