From what folks are saying it is a paint touch up kit with a rubber-like self adhesive pad to prevent further paint chipping. I'm still waiting for someone to post a pic of this kit.

The second batch hoodlum already has the pad installed from the factory.

The post you linked to isn't a fix for shoulder articulation; it's a fix for the headlight pieces flopping out in robot mode. Did you mean to link to something else?

Oh I thought it was referring to shoulder/arm movement.

Interesting, I have a first run and was lucky to not have the chip. Would definitely like to get the little pad though, I'll have to contact Toy Dojo and see if they can acquire it for me.

Even a piece of electrical tape would probably be enough.

If yours can push it in then press in down a bit and push it in again, and it sits flush, then yours don't need fix.
It's also how you push that part in.
Try it first before you go through all this trouble.

electric tape, when left on for a length of time, will leave a thick residue

It does not need to adhere to the toy. Fold it in half and slip it between the two pieces that could rub together.

i just received my hoodlum. 3 thumbs up for sure. and that collar piece does tab into the back of the hood. in bot mode. then and only then can you move the arms up and down at the shoulder. the 2 small tabs on the back of the collar should lock into the back of the hood.

Glad I stumbled across this thread. I purchased a Hoodlum back in April and hadn't opened him up yet. I went to unpack him and apparently I got a V1 which didn't have a paint chip. I'm going to reach out to BBTS to see what is available.

As a new member, this information is awesome!

Finally got a chance to take this guy out of the box and transform him. Is there any tips to tabbing his arms in, when in car mode. It seems pretty tough.

You just have to make sure everything is lined up precisely. That's the trick to it.

That’s the problem, it just doesn’t line up. Pretty frustrating.

They do line up. That's the problem though, FT doesn't make that easy.

*I found all that out the hard way... with a lot of bad words.

I haven't been following the thread drama (got mine recently and put him right back into the box because I'm moving) but I gotta say... that sounds an awful lot like MP-9.

Nah. MP-09 is simply fragile. Even the fixed/updated version feels delicate and super easy to break.
This guy may have a paint chipping issue and others may complain about certain aspects of the look, but he’s as solid as any other FT bot.
If he’s difficult to tab together at least it’s not a terrifying experience expecting it to shatter into dust. I like MP-09 but even picking it up, I hold my breath.
